  • Opinions wanted, Football Pool

Good day in the pool!!! I ended up taking Phil and Chic. We lost 124, down to 139. Not below 120, so, we have to pick 2 again. The games I am looking at are: cinn-PITT, mia-NYJ, oak-JACK, I use the denv-ariz game, but probably not. I am using NYJ for sure. I would love to use Jack and save Pitt for week 16 against Carol, but don't know if I can chance it. What does evryone think about Jack? Does Pitt have a letdown against Cinn after their big win?

I think both jack and pitt take it. Not only are they both at home but they are both good teams looking to run away with their division lead. Oakland showed up against san diego but that's intra-divisional play. Jacksonville should hold their own against oakland.
Pitt is just looking too good. Cincy looked ok sunday against the Saints but remember both those teams had extra days to rest and prepare since they both played on thanksgiving so it was bound to be closer than against the bills. The only scary thing about pitt-cincy is it's also intra-divisional but pitt should handle them easily.

After going through the pool, I found that 92 out of the 139 will have to take Jack or San Fran. So, I am going to use NYJ and Pitt and hope for the other 2 teams to lose. I just hope we can fall below 60 and then only have to choose 1 team because the next week is pretty scary. I do have San Diego saved which is good. I believe the majority will be on Dallas against Wash. So, in all I have a pretty good road if Jack and Sfran lose. Fingers crossed!!!!!

Pitt has a good running back named Rashard Mendenhall out of Illinois which opens the pass game a bit for the steelers

^ I think I've heard of him. Yeah pitt should go through them pretty easily.

Jacksonville I do think will win but the raiders are hard to figure one week getting demolished the next steamrolling.
san fran and seattle are the same way although seattle tends to crap themselves on the road. They'll score either 3 points or put up 30. San fran last home game they were blanked by tampa bay and I'm not sure that happens again.

But in any case Good Luck to you I'm not planning on playing either those teams/games so I do hope it goes your way.

These pools crack me up. I might be changing my mind. I am sticking with Pitt. I might change to Jack for my second pick. Not because of last nights game because that probably worked in my favor, but Miami has been tough on the road and it is a division rematch. Miami has won there the last 2 years. Oakland usually doesn't travel well out of there division, especially to the East Coast. Also, it looks as though they usually have a bad game after playing SD. So, many things to consider.

Take it from a voice of experience........The Raiders are as much an enigma as their owner Al Davis........Except they're not dead yet......."Resteasy" makes a good point there with the fact that they've demolished their divisional rivals, but have done little elsewhere.

The thing that boggles the mind more than anything, is the fact that SF is a 4 1/2-point favorite (albeit at home) against Seattle, who beat them like a rented mule earlier in the season.......and now Alex Smith is back at the helm to boot.........Go figure that one.

Pittsburgh is playing some of the best football in the NFL right now, and Cincy is playing at it's worst.......That's obviously a no-brainer, especially in Pittsburgh.....Good Luck !!

I am really crunching the Jack-Oak game and the NYJ-Mia game in my head. This is a very tough choice. Does anyone have any thoughts on the NYJ- Mia game?
