  • WIDESTRIDES......YOUR DUCKS!!!

Widestrides, I know you are a Duck fan and I will just say this... Alabama was at their weakest point.. Ingram and Richardson dinged up, our best lineman out with injury and we still should have beat them...

This I promise you, I know the sec well, I mean very well.. Although I have over thought things this year and my record on my sec picks doesn't show it, I still know all the teams very well. Hence my picks today on the SEC vs the Big Ten...

Alabama was the best team in the nation again this year.. Problem was, road sec schedule, and injuries/depth... That being said, Today they were healthy except for Mark Barron...When Richardson/Ingram and the O line have been healthy, Alabama is undefeated.

IF THIS AUBURN TEAM WINS THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, WHICH THEY WILL NOT...
PLEASE, ALL OF THE OTHER CONFERENCES PLAY ONE ANOTHER AND DECIDE WHO CAN PLAY VANDERBUILT FOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD..

FOR GOD SAKE SOMEONE COME UP WITH A TEAM TO BEAT THE SEC.... NO WORRIES, THE DUCKS WILL....... RR84

Auburn is good.. no doubt about it.. But your Ducks will win by 17.. Laugh if you want, but this is the weakest product the Sec has put out in a while.. Bama is the best team in the sec and maybe the nation...But your DUCKS WILL KICK AUBURNS ASS. BANK IT MY BROTHER...

I hope you are right. Let's hope our D Coordinator has used these 4-5 weeks to devise a plan to shut down Cam Newton. We also have to block Frailey. Then we are off to the races.

I got to say I am on the other side of the fence in this game.

This Auburn team is the same team that was down 24-0 to BAMA in Tuscaloosa and won the game.

You will see that the minute these two teams step onto the turf that the Tigers will match up well with the Ducks Speed. The difference will be the Size and Power of Auburn.

The O Line for the tigers will give Cam Newton a chance to have a big big day.

I Love Auburn to roll over the Ducks 55-27

Well no, but I had drank more than my share of beer that daY/night/day..lol

Seriously, Auburn is physical up front but I think Oregon will spread them out and lets face it, what are they ranked defensively in the nation 50+? Widestrides ducks will score a boat load on them.

Like I said if this Auburn team wins it all with one of the nations shotiest defenses, Pencil the sec in for eternity....Here is something for you guys:

          ARK ST 26
          CLEMSON 24
          SC 27
          KENTUCKY 34
ARKANSAS 43 (SECOND TEAM QB PLAYED MOST OF GAME FOR ARK)
LSU 17 (ONE OF THE NATIONS WORST OFFENSES)
          MISSISSIPPI 31
          CHATANOOGA 24
          GEORGIA 31
          BAMA 27
          (unhealthy)
ALL THESE POINTS SCORED AGAINST THE SOON TO BE NATIONAL CHAMPS and remember most of those games were at Auburn.
So I figure the best offense in the nation (Ducks) should hang about 50+ on them.
They will spread them out and make Fairley usless.. Bank it brothers!!!

RR, You're getting me cautiously optimistic instead of my dread of getting blown out.

I agree, we have to spread it out and run away from the middle and Fairly. Don't run LeMichael James up the middle on the option. Run him wide on the fly sweep.

And I'm hoping we force Newton to pass and he is off target due to the layoff. Couldn't believe Arky didn't "spy" Pryor.

Oregon is down to +2.5 at most books. Probably due to Stanford's demolition of VT. Oregon beat Stanford 52-31 in Eugene. Pac-10 looking good after that and Washington beating Nebraska. But we tailed off at the end a bit and had trouble at Cal and some early trouble against USC and AZ.

Was looking over Auburns schedule this year it was clear they have beaten some really good teams, according to my basic research the tigers have beaten already this season 8 bowl teams in the regular season

I also looked at some of the numbers that Red Raider put out there regarding points put up against auburns Defense and he is correct they are ranked about 50th on defense in point allowed but lets look at some of those numbers only going to point out a few games

Arkansas puts up 43 points on Auburn, but you failed to point out that the tigers put of 65 points in that game

Georgia scores 31 and Auburn scores 49

and my favorite Chatanooga scoring 24 points while Auburn was busy thrashing them with 65 points.

I know Oregon is also undefeated but take a look at those W's when they were on the road, less than impressive with the exception of the big W over TN. The Ducks play better at home no doubt about it but this is a road game.

Did you know that the QB of Auburn is 6-6 250 pounds just about as big of the Defensive Line of the Ducks

The average weight of Auburns O Line is 300 pounds, Oregon D Line is at about 250lbs.

This Tigers team can chew up some dirt running the ball easily the best team in the SEC in running the ball a league known for stought running defenses.

Auburn rushed for over 440 yards on LSU this year and for over 300 yards vs AK St, SC, KY, ARK, OLD MISS, and GA, lets not count the rest of the 300 yard efforts.

I can see no way that Oregon will stop the running game of Auburn, they should be able to ram that ball right down Oregons throat on the ground and wear them down.

The QB of Auburn is the best out there and on prime time he will show you why.

SO the real question left here is can Auburn slow down the ducks and create some turnovers?

Carpet, I agree our D-Line is in for a smash-mouthing if we don't stack the line. And Auburn will definitely want to run and control the ball and keep it away from Oregon's hurry-up offense. We had trouble bring Pryor down last year in the Rose Bowl. We've got to put 8 in the box and force Auburn to throw. We have some very good 1 on 1 cover guys and will have to just take our chances that we can get more stops that way then Auburn can get against our hurry-up and tire them out spread offense. I wish we could tire out some of those 300 pound Auburn guys on the OFFENSIVE side.

auburn's defensive speed is better than anything the dux have faced. the duck qb sucks balls and when they fall behind it will be "katie bar the door".

carpet makes a good clarification about the points auburn has allowed. when a team scores 60 points and so quickly, the opponents get several more possessions during the game. and how many of those games were already done deal blowouts during the "slop-time" scoring?

oregon must pray auburn has an off night because if auburn has just a decent game they will crush these weasels.

ps- if oregon wins then this post was made after many cocktails and a huge blunt

Now that is the funniest crap I have ever heard on this site. Let me see if I get you two straight. The reason everybody gets 35 on Auburn is because they score 50. I have a much different take on it. Auburn's strength is there offensive line. They wear you down and in the 4th quarter they put games away. Just few examples:

                          Clemson 17
Auburn 3 at the half, Auburn wins in ot 27-24

                          South carolina 27
Auburn 21 at the end of the 3rd quarter, Spurrier gets pissed at Garcia and puts true freshman in who throw two 4th quarter ints. and Auburn squeaks by.

                          Lsu 10
Auburn 10 half, Auburn Scores 14 in second half and wins 24-17

                          Georgia 21
Auburn 7 first quarter 21-21- half final 49-31 auburn 14 of witch were late in the game.

                          Bama-24
auburn 7 at the half and we all saw it should have been way more. Bama top o-lineman out and the second half all three starting receivers were injured. and McElroy even was not in the game late.

Not to mention Kentucky, Sc, Bama , and Clemson Auburn should have got beat straight up and Auburn pulled off last minute drives or OT just to win.

Make no mistake about it, this Au defense isn't good and will be exposed big time Monday night. So if you two think that Auburn gets out big and puts the scrubs in, you are crazy.... Kentucky scored 34 on them in a game the Tiger were just lucky flat out to win..I think Oregon's offense is as good as Kentucky. I mean get serious.. A perfectly sober RR says the ducks will wax there ass period...

Oregon now down to +2. That's a significant move as this started at Auburn -3 and even -3.5 some places. That's gotta be some significant cash from some significant sharps to move it like that.

I'm just trying to encourage myself!

                              No Cam Newton Day please!

I'm not playing the game as I am not that confident and do not want to jinx my Ducks anyway. But I would certainly want +3 if I was.

If the BW Contest is under -3, everybody except RR will be on Auburn! I'm not tipping my hand. I could take Auburn and if they win, my consolation for my Ducks losing could be winning the BW Bowl contest! And if I lose the contest because the Ducks win the National Championship, I won't care. How's that for a hedge bet? But it would be nice to hit the Daily Double and win both. We'll see if I'm even close.
