A Few games are jumping off the Carpet to look at......

USC -17.5 vs Minnesota Gophers.....In a rebuilding year the gophers are, no way they keep up with the speed of USC. This is one of my top games.

Houston- 4 vs UCLA , why not speed matches speed in a field goal battle.

        More to follow

Kent State (yes they have a football team) vs Alabama

Bama is favored by 33 points. Could the crimson tide found a softer opponent to beat on...... The only question is will Kent State score a point in this game and I think they will not.

            42-0

Add Akron to the easy prey. I'm guessing at least a 28 point lead for
Ohio State by half time. Question is the same, will Akron score?

I like Baylor +, TCU has quite a few new faces.
Also, Maryland may pull the upset.

Illinois -14.5 vs Arkansas State opening game

State shouldnt be expected to win...they do expect to be competitive. State runs a no huddle and run a lot of options out of the same formations. The big question mark is the O-Line..everyone is new except the center who is a 6th year senior. D Line and secondary should be improved after being abysmal last year. Offense set multiple school records last year under the new system installed by then OC Hugh Freeze who is now the HC.

Illinois is in day 3 training camp, just got back from rantoul to watch the Illini, here is what I see....

The running game of Illinois is going to be solid, Donovan Young frosh brings a complete package and has caught on quickly, Ford is a great power back and we hope to avoid injury to this stud, all in all the run game is solid for Illinois.

On defense what impressed me most was the secondary of Illinois, they are fast to the ball and love to hit should be fun to watch this progress.

Ark State beat Indiana last year and Iowa the year before if my memory serves me correctly, so not a team to take with a grain of salt. Illinois is loaded with talent and should win this game by 21
