  • Olympic Basketball Men's & Women's ATS Thread

Well, I see that my sportsbook is offering lines on both the Men's and Women's Olympic basketball.

I am sure there is money to be made based upon speculation of potential of each team (overvalue/undervalue).

I am fairly certain both the USA men's and women's ATS will be overvalued, so I am trying to look for games with the other countries. Sort of like a SD/Hou baseball game or JAX/CLE NFL game that really does not have many followers/action.

Please feel free to add your comments/opinions!

I'm going to step in it today....

Taking all chalk except for USA.

Argentina -5 More NBA talent, should win by DD
Russia -11.50 I think this number is low because of home team and Deng & Gordon. However, I'll take AK47 and better D
Spain -21 Solid team, should roll China
France +24.50 Too large a number for a team that can give USA post up problems.
Brazil -7.50 Sleeper team and I'll take that short number
Nigeria -11 Tunisia is absolutely bad! Nigeria has a strong D, this should be a blow out.

I went with the OVER 167.5 in the USA game as I got a good line on it compared to seeing 169 at other shops. Looking like an under at this point.

Like Russia and Spain to roll too.

I've been wrong before (as my 2-4 record shows from yesterday).

But 55 points for the USA's women's basketball to give to lowly Angola is a bit too much. If USA scores 100, all I need is 46 from Angola. I can see Gino emptying the bench in the 4th quarter. I just don't know how you could lay that much chalk!

I hit the Angola +55, so now, I am going to contradict myself and take the Men -54.5 vs Tunisia.

Tunisia scored only 15 1H vs Nigeria. Yes, they did light it up in the 4Q, but it was Nigeria. With the world class NBA talent, this will be showboat city, but a serious thumping. I can see the US up 35 at the half and 60 for the game.

It is a big ass number but unless Tunisia shoots lights out from 3, it's not going to happen. Especially when most shots we be contested!
