If all goes well I will be at this game with Chargers qb Steve Rivers father or as I call him "coach" as well as other former Red Raiders... Including my younger brother which I am very excited about who was Phillip's next door neighbor. My brother who was probably one of the best athletes in Red Raider history had the world in front of him .....I understand that this isn't news worthy stuff here but it is something that I am excited about and honestly don't know who I will pull for..Who would have know that the kid we used to see throwing the ball next door to my brother would be a star in the NFL.
My brother dropped out of school for personal reasons and I remember vividly when Coach called me and tried so desperately to keep him in school and playing football. He had college offers as a sophomore and more importantly big time baseball offers. I thought I was good but honestly he was the athlete in our family. He certainly would have been a pitcher in baseball and that is where his true talent lied..
This may all seem trivial to most of you but it will be a great day for because my brother has just recently lost his wife of many years and this is just I hope an escape for him....
