Lotobras Chooses IQ-Ludorum’s Casino Software for Touch-Screen Betting

Innovative Brazilian Gaming Company to Deploy 10,000 Casino Kiosks Featuring Prominent UK Gaming Developer’s Virtual Casino Application

    London, UK – July 8, 2002
IQ-Ludorum plc, the leading provider of wagering software solutions, is pleased to announce its expansion into the South American market with Lotobras S.A., an innovative gaming company dedicated to supplying online video lottery and gaming solutions for the Brazilian market. Through a licensing agreement between IQ-Ludorum Plc, Lotobras, and Cybertronix (a Canadian based developer of standalone gaming kiosks), IQ-Ludorum will license its virtual casino software for the deployment of 10,000 IQ-Kiosks in the Brazilian states of Parana and Santa Catarina, in a phased 12-month rollout. IQ-Kiosk, an innovative turnkey package for walk-up gaming, includes an attractive hardware package, easy-to-use touch-screen gaming interface, IQ-Casino 4.0 (IQ-Ludorum’s dynamic virtual casino experience), and secure Back Office reporting and payment systems. The stylish standalone kiosk is designed for gaming venues looking to expand their gaming offerings (e.g. bingo halls, betting shops, lottery outlets and sports bars).

“I am very excited about our opportunity to work in partnership with Lotobras in this rapidly expanding Brazilian market. This alone represents a great financial opportunity for all involved, whilst providing a foothold into the emerging gaming industry throughout Latin America from our Costa Rica base.”
Mark Ortiz, General Manager - Latin American Sales, IQ-Ludorum

Ortiz says the agreement represents a significant financial opportunity for IQ-Ludorum based on the size of the Brazilian market and the region’s widespread acceptance of games of chance, but more importantly, it signifies the company’s expansion into the potentially lucrative and largely untapped South American market. Ortiz credits Lotobras, a rapidly growing company with numerous lottery interests, for their dynamic vision for the future of South American gaming, and emphasized that the strength of IQ-Ludorum’s product/service offering was the determining factor in the agreement.

“We selected IQ-L for the quality and flexibility of their casino product to meet our market requirements as well as their commitment to build a customized solution to meet our needs and integrate with the Kiosk hardware.”
    Alphonse Voight, President, Lotobras S.A.

It is good to see that IQ-L is branching into other areas of the gaming world to make them more well-rounded. Since they were rumored to have a cash flow problem earlier this year, this is a big confidence booster.
