    Game Previews and Selections

Missouri (-21) 30 over Middle Tennessee State

Missouri is lead by QB Smith who is a good as an athlete as their is at his position in College football. The Tigers have yawned their way to a couple of victories the last two weeks and only have a Kansas ahead. The Tigers are 13-5 ATS as DD favorites, and are 8-3 ATS before Kansas. The Blue Raiders (yes that’s their nickname) are on the final leg of a tough road trifecta. The last two weeks have been at Georgia and at Clemson and now a tough trip to Columbia this week. MTS is averaging a respectable 148 ypg rushing, however the Tigers are only allowing 78 per game. Look for the superior speed and depth of Mizzo to wear down a game, yet tired MTS squad.

    LSU (-1) 4 over Georgia

    C. Richt has done a great job molding this year’s graduation depleted offense into a sound and efficient group. His best decision to make this occur was to stop giving DJ Shockley opportunities to play when D. Greene was leading the Bulldogs to the most prolific first two years any Georgia QB ever had passing. (Yes even better then Buck Bulue. You have to be old enough to appreciate this humor. I digress) David Greene is a quality QB who has proven to be a winner. So why do we like the Bengal Tigers? First, I admit their no better party place then BATON ROUGE when the Tiger win. OUTSTANDING! Back to the facts. LSU plays better at night then during the daytime, as we have all read and heard. That was before C. Saban. This team is loaded with great talent. QB Mauch has improved dramatically this season and has full confidence WR Clayton who is averaging over 18 ypc. Georgia is 9-1 ATS on the SEC road, but that is countered by the fact that LSU is 9-2 ATS in conference openers. The Bulldogs have injury issues that weaken them at key positions. The Play is ON a stronger LSU team who will cage this Bulldog in this season best early match-up from the SEC.

    Scooby Doo Play

Miami (-12) 6 over Boston College

    C. Tom O’Brien is known as gentlemen and a no-nonsense coach. He is either exactly that or sly as a fox. Making a statement in the student newspaper to ask BC students to not be overzealous in their comments towards ACC bound Miami. Let me get this straight, East Coast students not drinking all day for a 7:45 pm start on ESPN against their most hated rival. GOT IT. I can hear it now “Bad Luck to you Hurricanes” or something like that. The Eagles should be 3-0 and they know it, after out-playing Wake Forest and just not winning inspite of out-gaining then 448-316. The Big East Conference is known by handicappers as the best revenge conference of all. Teams cover nearly 65% of the time in these situations. The Eagles are 5-0 as a HD since 1999. The most attractive aspect of this HD cover scenario is Miami QB Berlin. Having watched him play three games this season, he will provide BC with 3-5 opportunities with picks. He has great courage, but this is why former C. Spurrier never had the faith in him at Florida. The home team is 6-0 ATS recently and BC is 10-1 ATS with revenge. Look for the Eagles to fly close the Hurricanes, just not in it.

Tennessee (-4.5) 10 over New Orleans

The Titans were man-handled last week at Indy. That seldom happens to a Jeff Fisher team. Tennessee’s style is predicated on tough physical football. QB McNair has a dislocated finger, but history has proven he will overcome nearly every injury. The Saints are nearly the opposite of Tennessee. With all the tough guy antics of C. Haslett this team is soft. QB Brooks is not consistent and frequently goes long stretches between making plays. New Orleans is just 2-7 ATS as a non-division dog, while the Titans are 11-4 ATS in the role as a non-division HT since 99’. With New Orleans possibly missing up to 5 starters this weekend, we will support the undervalued Titans to conquer the Saints on Sunday.

    GOOD LUCK,

    Doug
