  • Jazz @ Wizards preview and pick

    7.05pm ET
    Utah Jazz @ Washington Wizards

We'll recommend the Utah Jazz to continue their winning ways tonight when they travel to Washington to take on the Wizards.

The Jazz are a stellar 17-5-1 ATS overall and while that record will level out as the season progresses we don't expect it to start tonight. At first glance Utah's road record of 2-7 SU looks less than impressive but it is worth closer inspection. All bar one of those losses have been against upper-echelon opposition in the Lakers, Mavericks, Spurs, Warriors, Rockets and Hornets. It's stating the obvious to say that all of those teams are far better than the short-handed Wizards. Utah opened this road trip with a 94-86 win as two point dogs against a 76ers team that was missing the injured Allen Iverson. They are 10-1 ATS this season against teams averaging less than 91 points per game.

The Wizards are just 1-8 SU recently and have fared little better ATS covering just two of their last nine games. In their last six home games they have just one win and that was against a Cavaliers team that has lost 33 straight road games. Washington have lost recent home games to the 76ers, Magic, T'wolves, Spurs and Pistons as they have struggled mightily to cope with the absence of their two best players and leading scorers Gilbert Arenas and Jerry Stackhouse.

Utah have dominated the Atlantic division with an amazing 21-11 ATS record the last three seasons. In contrast the Wizards are just 13-19 during the same period against Midwest division opponents.

To cap it off, Utah own Washington going 8-1 SU and ATS against them in recent meetings.

The Jazz are the better team in better form and health and are definitely worth a play ON tonight as a small road favorite.

    Recommended Play: Utah Jazz -2.5
