  • Wrong team favored tonight

    10pm ET
    Denver Nuggets @ Seattle SuperSonics

The wrong team is favored tonight as the much-improved Denver Nuggets travel to Seattle to take on the SuperSonics.

Denver are 15-9 both SU and ATS having routed arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference 116-94 last night. They led the Hornets by 16 at the first break and never let them get any closer. The Nuggets are 4-4 recently on the road having posted wins over the 76ers, Warriors, Clippers and Bulls and tonight face a Seattle squad that has to be a little demoralized following last night's loss.

Seattle are an even 11-11 both SU and ATS. They blew a 16 point lead at Phoenix last night before covering the +3.5 in overtime. Their two main problems were a whopping 27 turnovers and almost no offensive presence in the paint. Hanging around the perimeter won't get it done against the Nuggets and it would be no surprise if Camby and Nene both post double-doubles tonight. Seattle's leading scorer Rashard Lewis is playing hurt with an injured shoulder and he must also deal with last night clunking two free throws and then turning the ball over with just a few seconds remaining.

While both teams played last night there is an obvious advantage to the Nuggets in that they were able to rest their starters for the entire fourth quarter. None of their players logged more than 30 minutes while in contrast the Sonics OT game meant that four of their starters had 40+ minutes. Expect fatigue to be a factor late and combine that with the lack of a go-to guy and memories of last night's meltdown and it would be very surprising if Seattle execute's well down the stretch.

Denver are 5-1 this season against Pacific Division opponents.

The Nuggets have covered four of the last five in this series and tonight we expect them to win this one outright.

    Recommended Play: Denver +2
