  • New Orleans Hornets @ Boston Celtics

We've isolated an NBA game this afternoon that offers tremendous value and will help get your New Year's Eve celebrations off to a flying start!

Play the Under today as the Boston Celtics host the New Orleans Hornets.

New Orleans are 19-12 overall and 14-16 O/U. They last played Monday and should be shocked, humiliated and embarrassed at allowing the anemic Detroit Pistons to shoot 54.4% from the field and score 108 points.

"We played good in spots, but our defense as a whole suffered a bit" said David Wesley. "We struggled putting the ball in the basket early in the first quarter and were just playing uphill from there. The commitment to defense just hasn't been there, because we're just not playing the full 48 minutes right now. We're giving up drives to the basket, and a lot of fast break points and it's those types of things that will get you beat every night".

Coach Tim Floyd said "I think we just need to get better every night out. We allowed them to get into transition and you can't do that with a team that finishes the way they do. We've just got to get better on the defensive end from here on out."

The Hornets have lost four straight road games so hopefully they have now realized that they need to make some stops at the defensive end. Expect a much better defensive effort from New Orleans today and that would be great news for our Under play. Through their last five games the Hornets are combining for an average of 190 points per game with just one of those going Over tonight's line of 193.5.

Boston are an even 16-16 overall this season and 17-14 Over/Under. They had played in eight straight Overs earlier this season before the linesmakers adjusted sufficiently and most recently are 6-1 to the Under. The Celtics are averaging 187 ppg through their last five games and like the Hornets just one of these games would have gone Over tonight's posted total. Following a four-game West coast road swing and short turnaround to today's game they may well be a little lethargic today.

Afternoon games often result in Unders as players struggle to adjust to the early start, miss some outside shots and tend not to push the ball up the court as much as they normally do.

The Under is 7-3 in recent meetings between these teams with an average score of less than 180 points per game. We're very confident of a similar result today and would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

    Recommended Play: Under 193.5
