  • A Question for Woodee12 resident expert on Iowa and the Board

    Woodee12.................the forum.......

This Iowa team is a much different team without Pierre Pierce, with him they have beat some very good teams

    Louisville
    Texas
    Iowa State
    Texas Tech
    Air Force
    Loss to Illinois in OT

without him I can not get a good feel for this team, it is obvious that Iowa is hurt by the loss, but just how hurt...?

How has Iowa adjusted to this loss on offense and defense, has the out put dropped in any category since Feb 2 ?

Illinois is coming to town, I have early numbers on the game, must search this game deeper..

    Thanks for all your help

    Carpet,

Since there loss to Mich. st seems like the line is adjusted nicely in Iowa's favor. I am curious what line comes out. I know SO much press is on Illinois that it should be heavily inflated. I'm loving Iowa in this position after there loss to Purdue. We'll see what comes out on the line though.

I am doing some checking on a couple things and will check back later.

This could be the game of the year for the hawks since they may not make it to the tourney after a hot start.

They will be fired up and I know there is not a ticket to be found around here.

I can see Illinois being a 7 or 8 point fav on the road which will be a tough spot. But I cannot see taking Iowa at this point either. Its a make or break deal for Alford too. He is pretty much hated here in Iowa.

This past Sunday in the local paper had a sign from an Auto shop reading:

"Hey Ferenz (Iowa football coach), Can you coach Basketball?"

The players may be quitting on him too but with the #1 team coming to town they will be pumped.

      I'll be back later.

Illinois opens up a 7.5 chalk

My numbers came in Illinois by 6

I will be back later with my pick, more research needed

The line has dropped to -7 Illinois at pinnacle

I have completed another leg of my study, with and with out Pierce

With Pierce prior to Feb 2

Iowa avgs 74.9 a game lets call it 75,

Without Pierce last 4 games average dips to 65 ppg
