This may be one of the worst opening lines for the Superbowl ever. Unfortunately for the books, they had little choice in the matter. When the playoffs first started, the books were giving the NFC and 10 points, and the public was all over it going both ways. The reason for such a high spread was that Indy was the overwhelming choice (3/5) to represent the AFC.
Now the #6 team in the AFC is playing the NFC Champion. Pitt is a 3-4 point favorite (and dropping) depending on where you play. For those of us who took the NFC +10, you can see the huge middle here. What the books can not allow is the AFC team to become the dog. That would be way too huge an obsticle to overcome. So no matter where the money seems to go, the Steelers will remain a favorite over the Seahawks, even though the Seahawks should be the favorite in this game.
