  • Wayne Allyn Root for VP

Anybody voting for the Nader/Root ticket? LOL

  • #2
You know this year I have actually given it a thought as I am thoroughly disappointed with both candidates. Im not going to get political but we have lost our way and I don't see our present presidential candidates showing us the light. If I was to vote for Nader it would be out of disgust for McCain/Obama. What are you thinking.

I actually find this comical. I hate Nader and Root is a joke. Then again, I`m very biased about it. I`m a registered Republican, on our republican city committee, former republican candidate, will probably be a republican candidate next year, and I have worked on McCain`s campaign. So I guess my hands are tied! lol....I think McCain is the lesser of 2 evils. Obama couldn`t find his way out of a paper bag.

You know I couldn't agree with you more. Obama is a joke. I'm not a fan of socialism and I think he is totally out of touch with reality. (Im going to step on toes but thats okay) His economic concepts make no sense. If you were to pick up a beginners economics text book it would tell you all his theories have failed and failed miserably. I was a big fan of Romney and was very disappointed when he did not get the bid. As you can tell I am really disappointed with our government at the time and am questioning why our politicians are primarily made up of Lawyers. Let me ask you this, and I remind you i understand its only your opinion and want criticize, but as a registered republican what are your thoughts about Bush?
Truthfully Im just disgusted right now and would rather not vote then vote for Nader. As negative as I sound about this I have to remind myself at times how fortunate we really are because we still have sports to escape the insanity that plagues our country at the moment.

Good Post and most of all, YOU`RE RIGHT. Obama`s economic policies are a complete farce and will only hinder, or should I say, *sink* our economy even worse than it is now. He has a trillion dollar spending plan and want to tax the rich. He doesn`t seem to realize, when you tax the wealthy, you are taxing the people that are providing jobs. We`re in the middle of a $700 Billion dollar bail out and he wants to spend MORE money on his ridiculous plans. As far as George Bush goes, I voted for the guy because he was the lesser of 2 evils once again. Imagine if John Kerry was president, our entire financial structure would probably collapse. Bush did some good things, I benefited from his tax cuts and child credit increase. I don`t agree with the handling of the war, although I think we got it right now. People can call him the worst president ever and thats fine, but for people that understand politics, he wasn`t as bad as they say. I give him a C for a grade.

            Capper,
What are your thoughts on the bailout?

I say, let them fail and go into bankruptcy. They caused their own demise, now they can wallow in their own sh*t. A bailout is not a guarantee, who wins in a bailout?

The bailouts are a F***ing Joke, they don't help the ones who really need it, the citizens.
                good luck

You know Capper I agree and when news was announced of a bail out I almost tossed my TV out the window, but after really putting a lot of thought behind it I decided it was necessary. Its necessary because our economy is built on credit and without credit our economy stalls. No matter what anyone thinks when the economy stalls everyone from wall street to main street will face dramatic changes. Im really tired of hearing main street blame wall street and vice versa, because when it came down to it no one held a gun to their head and forced them to buy a house that was $150,000 out of their range. On the other hand you see greed at its finest, no one should ever be leveraged 40-1. So big business took advantage of ignorance and in the end both were exploited. No matter what you think main street needs wall street and wall street needs main street. Neither party was complaining on the way up and then like children, fingers began to fly on the way down. Truthfully there are legitimate arguments from both sides and either way it want be pretty.

I can see your point and I thought about this long and hard, at first I favored the bailout, but I backed out of it. There is a lot that is fundamentally wrong with a bailout. The government can intervene in a LOT of ways that doesn`t require money. They can put a hold on foreclosures and refinance mortgages for those that got caught in debt. You can`t help out everybody, but you can save a lot of homeowners from losing their homes and repaying what they owe. There are also a lot of real estate investors that will snatch up these foreclosures, thus wiping out more debt that was created. Mortgage lenders can eat sh*t, take a hit, and go bankrupt for all I care. The government does not need to buy bad paper, its just not good business. We put in $700 Billion and that paper goes bad, we just made a major economic blunder that will take years to recover from. Imagine this, you give 20,000 people going into foreclosure or delinquency, $20,000 each. That`s is $200 Mill. On top of that, make $100 Million available to real estate investors. I will guarantee you this, our market will rebound and these lenders will get their money back. This is only one sector of our economy, empower the people with money, not the government. Where people see a crisis, I see opportunity. The government needs to be a middle man and an investor. You either invest in a dead company, or invest in the people.

                      Capper,
Truthfully we can sit here and crunch numbers till were blue in the face but that gets old. Personally your plan to give each 20,000 is not a bad idea but you also have to consider these people obviously can not handle money, so handing them even more money is very alarming to me. Like I said before im tired of both sides pointing the finger and acting like children. Im sensing both sides have disregarded the importance behind this bill and have used this time for an early campaign platform. In my opinion its sick. They should all be thrown out. Anyways its always nice to hear others views, enjoy your weekend, and goodluck.

Very true...I would give people money in a secure fund...where they can only touch a small percentage of that money and the rest would be taken out by their mortage company on a monthly basis..it will help them stay in their homes and re-establish credit. I couldn`t agree with you more about how sick and distorted this situation is. I don`t think regular people will be helped at all by this bailout. Its a wait and see game at this point.

It is sad. Its sad I do the right thing and live on only what I can afford yet others choose to chase the high life and get to refinance their dream house. Truthfully I have no sympathy for anyone who decided to walk away or have their house foreclosed on. I know many bankers who have told me they have practically begged the people to work with them and they turned their back. Its sick. We know a couple who's salaries were identical to ours and owned two nice homes. About a year into their second home it was foreclosed on, and shortly after their second was as well. Now they live in an apartment and cant understand where they screwed up. Maybe the best idea would be for future home owners to be required to take simple finance courses. I know it sounds dumb but it doesn't require a lot of math to understand when your in over your head. Anyways I would love to continue this conversation once the details of the bailout are released.

                            Capper,
In my opinion today is a sad day. Its not a sad day for what everyone is talking about, however it is a sad day because it is clear most of the house official are worried about their future rather than ours. I guarantee you 85% of Americans have no clue what is going on and only know they don't want to bail out anyone on wall street yet loved those checks they got in the mail. In return our brilliant representatives have finally decided to listen to the public. If you think its expensive to put 700 billion together give it another two months and 700 billion will be a dream. Everyone is affected from this top to bottom. If Bank of America will not give Mcdonalds a loan, do you seriously think their going to give you a loan. I apologize for the rant but this is sick.
