  • 2008 Football Trends

Just a few football trends from the 2008 season to date....In college football, double-digit favorites off a bye are 13-2 (this week Georgia, San Jose State, and Arkansas State should qualify)...In the NFL, double-digit favorites are just 1-7 ATS(this week I it looks to be "against" Washington vs. St. Louis)(a "hold-your-nose" pick)...again in the NFL, west coast teams playing a noon start game are just 1-6 ATS(this week it's "against" Oakland traveling to New Orleans)...and just a "head-scratcher" trend in the NFL this year, an opposite to years gone by logic = going "with" teams the following week coming off a Monday night football game is now 8-1-1 ATS(this week, if it continues to go this way, New Orleans and Minnesota to cover). Well, there you have just a few of the more interesting trends in 2008 thus far...might not mean much, but it is interesting to ponder. RAW
