  • Michigan State Spartans vs ILLINOIS

The Spartans are rolling into town this weekend
and find themselves a 4 point favorite vs Illinois

QB Juice Williams has been benched for the start of this
game accoring to coach ron Zook

In Juices place will be red shirt Junior Eddie Megee
Many say megee has a more accurate passing game
than Juice. From what I seen in the few minutes he
has played is that he turns the ball over alot mainly
    from fumbles.

This move by Zook is nothing more than putting
Lip Stick on a pig. I look for JUICE to be playing
by the second quarter trying to play catchup

Benching Juice could be what this team needs

Let me ask you the educated fans a Question

WHO on this list has been benched as the leading
all time player Big 10 in offense????????

      IS IT

Drew Breese of Purdue 12,692 yards

Basanes NW 11,576 (what ever happend to him)

      Painter of PURDUE 11,511 yards

L Randell from from Indy 11,364

      Kyle Orton Purdue 9653 yards

      OR JUICE WILLIAMS of Illinois
at 9,126 career yards and broke the team
      all time record....

      The correct response is:

Matt Painter was benched as a Senior at Purdue

Kyle Orton was benched as a Sophmore

Juice Williams has just been benched as a senior

This is a move by the coaching staff to shake up the
team and in my opinion it is going to back fire from
a leadership stand point. So the coaching staff takes
out the floor general at a time of critical importance....

      Makes no logic at all....................

Carpet, do think he is selling the season out and looking to the future?

I really dont think coach Zook is selling out the season
and looking to the future, that would be his own
          death wish as a coach.

What I do know is that he has to do something
to snap this offense into place. Benching a starter
that had 38 games in a row at starting QB is a eye
          opener.

But when you looked at the tapes of the game it
was clear that Williams is missing reads and just
          is going thru the motions.

Do I think Mcgee is the answer ABSOLUTELY NOT
WHILE he is faster than juice and more accurate
his ability to control the ball is scary. The way he
cannot get a snap from under center without bobbling
          it drives me crazy.

Mcgee is the same QB who failed to find WR Benn
in a game vs Illinois State for one fricking pass
completion. Williams will be in this game to play
          by the 2nd Qtr.

It is home coming for the Illinois and the kick off
is set for 11am central thats 10am Sparty time.

This is a Do or Die game for the Illini and I think
they are going to play MSU very very close

If Juice was starting I would predict a W out right
but knowing they will be playing from behind
I see this game being within 3 points

          More to follow

I have an idea why dont Illinois line Ron Zook
up at wide reciever for the game and have Juice
throw a bullet at his feet.

At some point we're just going to have to admit that this team just plain sucks, Juice or no Juice They've given up 37, 30 and 35 and all but 6 of the 26 pts they've scored have pretty much been in garbage time. (we're not counting Illinois St)

I am on both sides of the ball here dragon

It is to early to throw in the towel considering
I dont see a team out there that has faced two
top rated defenses and fared well.

3 of Illinois teams they have faced are all
ranked in the top 25...Ohio State, Penn St
              and Mizzou....

These are teams that will exploit your weakness
              week end and week out....

It amazes me at the talent this team has it really
does and they play that way.....

But this is College Football and I can tell you one
thing there is a hell of alot more passion and emotion
in College Football than any where on earth, And
              this Illini team has both.....

Carpet thinks they will be in every game for
              the rest of the year.

Its a new chapter for Illini football and I welcome
the WAKE UP CALL that Mr Juice has received.

I may give them one more shot this week as a home dog with MSU coming off a big game.

But if they don't show up this week, I'd call it a lost cause for the year.

                Sad, but true.

You are correct if Illinois fails to post a W this week
the season is down the drain. Just get a big can of
draino out as the season heads down the drain.

Illinois is a wounded bear playing at home as
a home dog, everyone from the head coach to
the grounds keeper knows this is do or die.

Clay Nurse DE for Illinois says it best

"We are at rock bottom and enough is enough. It is
time to step up and stop people from running all
over us. It's getting ridiculos. We have got to
stand up and say We have a problem. We must
get to the football. If the offense dont score than we
cant give up any points on defense"

There is alot of fire and brimstone on this
team in regards to emotion. I truly think Illinois
is gonna come out and play 100 percent of the
game. The Sparties have caught Illinois at the wrong
time in the schedule on the road.
