Ok folks.
I have to say, I can't really comment on the record keeping and who's right and who's wrong. Simply because, I have a hard enough time running a contest like the Hilton contest, and that thing is AUTOMATED!!
I would have to go in and go through pick by pick, contestant by contestant to sort that out.
If there is anyone who thinks their record is wrong, and they were not late posting, and they followed the rules (like em or not) to a tee, then email me, provide the documentation, and I will make sure the record is corrected.
I stress though, you would have had to follow the rules to a letter, since they have been posted since day one.
As far as the bickering goes...........there was a time, oh, about 13 years ago or so, that we used to clamp down on the smack talk and personal attacks. But then, the site was criticized for censorship, deleting posts, etc.etc...........so these days, I basically try not to get involved and let these things play out.
I will make a couple of observations though......
There seems to be guilty parties on both sides.......
Mr X - Chill out dude. Maybe you're a little stressed. I know running these contests is NOT easy.I know it sucks when you spend time grading and making standings only to have people saying this is wrong or that's wrong. I'm guilty of that as well......I had people emailing me about the Hilton contest with problems here and there and I almost tore the friggin site down and wished I never had the contest!!
Mr X Antagonists - You know who you are.........cmon guys, you knew you had him on the ropes........you knew you had him backed into a corner and you decided to turn the screws a little tighter to see if you could make him break.....
Seriously, picking a game where the spread was off by a gazillion points just to break balls........no sportsbook would have let that bet stand, nor would I. An "obvious mistake" is listed in every sportsbooks rulebook......
Lastly...........
Each and every poster here is appreciated. Whether you're an old timer that has been here since before cell phones, or whether you're a newbie that just strolled in this year.
Honestly, I wish there was as much chatter about the games as there is about a conflict like this...... LOL.
Please remember this as well.............once upon a time, lots of contest prizes were paid for by sponsors. The prizes had lots of stipulations, rollovers, etc.etc........
That is not the case these days. Every contest prize is put up by yours truly. No stipulations, no strings, check or pay pal no questions asked (even if it does take me a month to get around to it).
Now, I'm not looking for praise, or looking to be a hero. But it does kill me to see talk about driving people away from the site, or this place is going down hill, etc.etc.etc......kinda makes me feel like I'm wasting my money.
There's alot of unique personalities in here and with that comes some flare ups from time to time......right Boone and Hart Attack
Just work it out.............maybe we can automate this contest in the future to take the load off of everyone. I'll definitly look into it.
