  • Skybook = Slow Pay - No Pay

    12/15/09
Bettorsworld readers please note. Skybook Sportsbook is currently in a slow pay situation. If you are reading this and have an account with Skybook, we would advise you to request a withdrawal.

A payout request was made from Skybook on September 15th, 2009. To their credit, they were able to make partial payment over the course of 2 1/2 months. However, have been unable to make a final $4500 payment.

It should be noted that during this time, test payouts were requested from several other sportsbooks. All came within one week.

We will keep our readers posted and will let you know if further payment arrives.

We report the facts. We have been monitoring this industry for 15 years. Remember that when the spin doctors currently promoting skybook try and make this go away.

Anyone currently promoting skybook, is promoting a sportsbook that is having difficulty making payments. We will provide additional details and documentation shortly.

Any questions, feel free to contact us.

I appreciate the updates. I used to use skybook but not recently, but this is good caution to stay away until they get their heads back on straight.

Jeff - off topic - but I have sent emails.

The FSM is not accurate with the EST clock - I was shut out with 8 minutes until kickoff last week and also with 5 minutes on pprior week.

Naturally - ALL the icks I was unable to post were winners
      As Always - Good Luck,

      Sonny

        Stardust - I haven't received any emails......

At any rate, yes, the fsm cuts off much earler than a regular sportsbook. You can't make picks right up until kick off.

On the flip side, the lines are posted 7 days ahead of time for football and remain their all week......so, plenty of time to pick winners

I'll look into changing it to cut off 15 minutes to post.

          skybook/ No problem!!!!

I requested a payout last week from Skybook and had no problems and am very confortable after talking to Skybook management. Skybook has been solid for a very long time. I would hope that whoever sent the email about Skybook wasn't using that email for personal reasons? I will continue to use Skybook along with my other 5 books. Free 1/2 point is hard to beat.

Raymond751 - the person who was being slow paid by Skybook was a very good customer of theirs. Someone who played there for many years.

            The customer was me.

Having said that, it took 3 months, but this issue has been resolved.

As far as continuing to play there, that is a decision each player has to make for themselves.

We, (bettorsworld) are not currently reccomending them.

If things go well over the next several months and there are no further complaints, we'd give them the thumbs up again.

We want nothing more than success for all sportsbooks.

Let me add a few things.

In this post I am not necessarily referring to Skybook, but to sportsbooks in general.

              Specifically, sportsbooks in trouble.

As a result of this, I got a chance to check out a few forums that I don't generally get a chance check out. Places that were around 15 years ago when we all started reporting on this industry.

I saw quite a bit of misinformation being posted.

While it's always important to hear from players as far as who is getting paid from such and such a book, it's also very irresponsible for someone to tell others they should have no fear playing somewhere just because they just got a withdrawal. (I am not referring to raymond751 as he simply stated his own experience and opinion/intentions)

I actually read on a forum that someone had just received an $800 payout, so therefor, all is well and everyone should be able to play worry free.

Do people realize how much money is wagered at these places?

Understand something. There will always be a pecking order when it comes to a sportsbook in trouble. a food chain if you will. Where you are in that chain, determines when you find out, if ever, that a sportsbook is in trouble.

Professional players, agents and other sportsbooks are always going to be at the top of the food chain.

The last guys that are ever going to know about trouble, are the post up players, especially the small players with a few hundred or a few thousand bucks in their accounts.

Those small players will always get their few hundred or few dime payouts right up until the point that it's impossible to make those payments. The book wants to keep those guys quiet and happy.

The guy who has a 40k balance and is having trouble getting paid is always going to keep his mouth shut because he doesn't want to start a run on the bank.

Likewise with an agent. He has to pay his players. So his players don't know there's a problem. He's not going to say anything until he gets his money.

Bottom line - it's ok to come forward and report your experience with a book. We all want to hear the good and the bad. Players need to lookout for each other. But also understand that there is a pecking order, and others may be privy to information that you are not.
