  • little help please...

Scumball sportsbook has these rules listed for their Super Bowl contest.

PRIZES. To be eligible for a cash prize, you must have a real-money account at BetGameDay.com. To receive the full amount, you must have deposited and wagered at least $50 in sports/horse wagers within the last 30 days of the applicable prize period. If you are an inactive/non depositing player, you will be eligible to receive half of the stated prize amount. Any new contest registrants from the U.S. or Canada are not eligible for the cash prizes. Only existing customers at BetGameDay.com and new registrants from non-North American countries are eligible for the cash prizes.

I have had an account at this place for years, never funded though. I have entered their contests with it for years. I won 2 different prizes during the SuperBowl contest totaling $600. Could you each take a second and please give me your opinion as to how much from $0 to $300 to $600 should be deposited into my wagering account, please.

So far, that's 3 for the correct answer of $300. Not to hard to guess what the sportsbook votes for, 0.

They must be getting you on this?

Here's the final answer from them. Obviously, I will stay FAR away from this company and hope no one ever does business with them. All over a lousy $300 prize in a contest they run. There are plenty of other places out there who run a way better business, like the ones listed here on BW. I am very glad to see they aren't listed here that I could find as a sponsor or on the cream of the crop list.

              Thank you for contacting us.
I apologize for the trouble this has caused you.
Due to you never having made one real money deposit into the lifetime of your account, we can't honor your prize.
In 2007 we had to stop taking new customers from the USA and disable all accounts that have never made a deposit to activate their accounts. Your account has remained open for unknown reasons, even though it was never activated.
I have permanently closed your Betgameday account. If you would have activated your account in the past with a deposit, something could have been worked out regarding the free contest prize, unfortunately that is not the case and we are unable to fulfil your request.

              Sincerely,

              David

                Hello Jason,

                Thank you for your response.

As I said in my previous email, in the whole time (5 plus years) that you have held an account at Betgameday you never made one deposit. This is the reason why we are unable to grant you the prize money.

Since we do not except new US players, your account has been closed because it was never activated with a real money deposit.

We wish you all the best.

                Sincerely,

                David

Yeah, they are really kind and considerate.
The only real problem with these off-shore places is they can basically change their own rules on things and do what they want when they want, and not have to worry about much as they continue to exist on some little country someplace "way out there".
In this case, they did exactly that, they changed their own rule when they wanted to because I wasn't a depositing customer, and I am shit out of luck. Guess the only thing I can do is be glad I never gave them a cent, and make others aware of them so hopefully they stay away also. Just forget about them when it is time to re-up for march madness, football season, or whatever else.
