The sec west should be very competitive this year and this is a team that has a chance to win it.

Offense: Explosive....... This offense was number one in the sec and very high ranked nationally. One of the main reasons is qb. Ryan Mallet. He passed for a school record of 3,624 yds. and had the 3rd highest efficiency rating in sec history...

He has all of his skill people returning headed by receivers Greg Childs, Jarious Wright, and Joe Adams. The tight end is also excellent with 90 receptions in the past two years..

The running game stunk last year but should be improved this season with Ronnie Wingo and Broderick Green. The offensive line which was terrible two years ago improved last year and should be better this year with four out of five returning and some much needed depth behind them.

Defense was another story however; They were near the bottom of every statistic in the sec and 89th total defense in the nation. The line will have two of four returning and should be deeper than last years.

The bright spot on the defensive side of the ball in the linebackers. These guys are tackling machines led by middle linebacker Jerry Franklin with 94. This should be a very good and experienced unit.

The secondary returns seven players that either started or had significant playing time. The special teams were not good last year. Alex Tejada has been inconsistent and has at one time lost his kicking job. Had he made a couple of mid range field goals last season the hogs would have beat Florida and Lsu.

Bottom line: This is going to be a very good team. Dynamic on offense and the defense will be better than the past two seasons. If they beat Bama in Fayetteville in late September, then look out.

Red Raiders Prediction: Best case scenario; 10-2, if they beat Bama 11-1. Worst case scenario; 9-3. LOOK OUT FOR THE HOGS!!!
