  • Is Illinois Season a Lost Cause ?

The question was asked is this season a lost cause? Here is the definition:

A LOST CAUSE: A undertaking or movement that has failed or is certain to fail

I cannot say that 16-7 is a movement that has failed or is certain to fail. We all knew that coming into this season that Coach Weber would be faced with a dicey puzzle placing 7 new players into the fold.

Weber is placing way to much emphasis on feeding Leonard in the post, the whole world knows it. If he would just let the offense play a full court game you would see the talent and 80 points a game.

NW and Penn State play a Princeton style of basketball, difficult to defend and well defined by it's play. Illinois plays a similar version of this only in the sense that they play a half court game other than that the similarities end.

I think Illinois plays up or down to the level of play, last 9 games have been decided by 5 points or less.

Illinois will come into Indiana on Thursday and make this a whale of a game. The speed of Illinois has Tom Crean twittering about it so you know he is worried.

So the answer is.....No the season is not lost it has only just started in the rugged Big 10 basketball world
