My FB outs last year (please add yours)

Never too early to select outs for FB season, FB is king! Following is a list of outs I used for FB last year, a quick comment on each, and a reccommendation based on whether I'll use them again this year.

Please chime in with your own similar post.

    B-WORLD books:

    1. Canbet

Upside: 15% open/re-load bonus with advertised LVSC lines. Top-notch customer service. Based in Australia. Internet and phone betting on same acct.

    Downside: Lines only out Tuesdays.

    Verdict: I'll be back, absolutely.

    2. Bowmans

Upside: Good customer service once you get through; open 24 hours. Lines pretty swingy on Monday night.

Downside: Phone switchboard apparently being repeatedly hit with NATO graphite bombs. No internet wagering.

    Verdict: I'll likely be back.

    3. Victor Chandler

Upside: Customer service second to none. Big limits. Cross-sport parlays. Never a busy signal. Solid as the rock of Gibraltar.

Downside: Lines out Tuesdays. Moneylines sometimes only out gamedays. Never a weird line. No internet wagering yet.

Verdict: VC gets 75% of my soccer handle (Asian Lines rule), and soccer is 80% of what I play. I'm there almost by default, but I don't mind.

    Non B-WORLD books:

    4. ABC Islands

Upside: Old-time teaser odds and more (2 team: 6pt even, 7pt -115). Lines out Monday. Big action yields different lines.

Downside: Online wagering is done through sister outfit "Casino Tropicale" (low limits).

Verdict: These guys got almost all my teaser plays last year. Ditto this year.

    5. William Hill

Upside: If a game is on 2', 3, or 3' they will hold the number a long way by moving money before moving the spread (College game last year saw a line -3, -155). Makes for interesting lines. Bi-weekly statement mailed to customers. Very solid trade name.

Downside: No internet wagering for North Americans last year. Lines out as late as Wednesday. Moneylines as late as Friday. Top-25 in NCAAF only.

Verdict: I was with these guys last year for soccer too until I started winning. Rather than boot me they reneged on a commitment to let me make bets on single games. Not going back.

    Shawn,

Used DAS. Had some 1.95 lines around, and sometimes you would see -7.5 1.85 and +7.5 1.95.

Seeing they have suggested they are aggressively going after football, not see things like this again.

Seems DAS does not like to hang whole number spreads out there, although this may change - but don't do it for basketball, for example, they change the money instead.

So may be worth looking at - especially if you are going to possibly use for soccer, anyway?

    GREAT IDEA!

    1) WSEX
Upside: easiest to use Interface, Good solid odds. Has it all
Downside: No Credit Cards YET, Not 24 Hours
Verdict: Will remain #1 for me.

    2) Sports Interaction
Upside: Great odds for Dog Players and Middlers, Easy to Fund account with online Check, FINALLY have an 800 #. 24 Hours.
    Downside: Low Limits
    Verdict: Will absolutely use again

    3) EasyBets
Upside: Similar to SIA but Move lines less. 24 Hours
    Downside: No Teasers
    Verdict: Will use again

    4) ABC Islands and Casino Tropicale
Upside: No credit card fees to fund, GREAT Teaser Odds
    Downside: None to speak of
    Verdict: Will use again

    5) Grand Prix and Big Book:
Upside: Not Clone shops, sometimes find good odds. No Credit Card Fees.
Downside: NOT WEBTV Compatible for Internet, Less and Later Betting Options then most
Verdict: Might Use again for middling puposes

    6)Margarita Islands:
    Upside: Solid, good betting options
    Downside: No Internet Betting
Verdict: Since I still have money in there from the EZ Days, I'll continue to use, but probably won't reload unless they get Internet Betting.

ETC.) I'm probably gonna sign up with SportFanatik, as I want to Have a Starnet Book. They have a very easy user interface, are 24 Hours, and I've heard good things. I'd love to use SOS but they are a downoad shop and I have WEBTV. Might throw some into Carib as well for the -102 Tuesdays.
    I CANNOT WAIT FOR FOOTBALL!

DAS - AV2 is right about them. I'm expecting them back with the 1.95 this season. I'm also waiting for them to provide the US$ accounts and 90% I will reload and play in the football season.

Olympic - Talking about good teasar odds (other than 2 teamer but up to 6 teamer), Olympic is a good choice, also, they've got much more different betting options/sports since the last 3 months.

GSC - the only place that have 20-1 for 8 team 6-point teasar.

Megasports - non-american only. low vig.

Hey, anyone remember the Perfect 16?

I'll definitely play it again this year.

Ah yes...I played the Perfect 16 last year --silly, silly me:

    1) The promised $50,000 prize pool materialised at $38,000.

    2) "Administrative/advertising fees" were removed before the house took its deep, 20% cut. This was news to everyone in these posting forums.

    3) It was not well advertised that a 10% fee applied to bought/sold teams.

Here's what I'm doing instead next year:

If a person plays let-it-ride on an initial $25 moneyline play at -250 each week, after 16 weeks that $25 is worth over $6000...a lot more than the $1250 P-16 winners each got this year! Further, no need to put one's "ticket" up for auction...one can pull the $$ out anytime. And no restrictions on repeating teams or "having" to play each week either.

I'm PASSING on this mug's game in '99.

Shawn, I don't agree your calculation.

Yeah i know the fee and the cut is deep but for $25, that worths a shot.

Usually from week 1 to week 10, you will take those favors from 9 pts up to 14 pts.

You are actually looking at some at least -400 favors.

If you put $25 for a -400 favor for 10 weeks, you can win about $200.

And usually you can at least sell your ticket at week 11 for $300 and you can also have a shot at the jackpot.

Post Time is non-different from other offshores located in Antigua. Customer service is excellent, you could transfer accounts from one shop to another as you wished, 5-10 minutes account activations even on a busy weekend and so forth. Only drawback as of now is, there is no online wagering yet and regarding payouts, unfortunately I couldn't comment on that simply because I didn't have the opportunity to ask for a payout.

Here are my top three that I would recommend for this coming football season:

Premiere League - lines are very competitive, customer service is excellent, payouts are prompt.

SOS - lines are in your favor if you play dogs. Customer service is excellent, payouts are prompt.

CRIS (Caribi) - high limits, payouts are prompt.

My top two recommendations would be Bowman's and SOS, because they put college football totals up on Wednesday afternoon. Most of the other books don't have them up until Saturday morning, by which time a lot of the value has dissipated.

I'm looking for books which offer action points for college and pro football, with at least a 15 point cap. Can anyone help?

    thanks,

    mikren

ABC has a 20 point cap.

  13. #13
    Carib:

"If" bets, average lines, nice interface, Internet (and phone I think). Ties on teasers win here!

    Verdict: Thumbs Up

    Intertops:

Good lines, slow and heavy graphics that bog down your machine.

    GSC:

Better dog lines, OK interface exce[pt you MUST take cookies to make a bet. I hate cookies!

    As always - Good Luck,

    Sonny

Re: Intertops...I also like this book, but the slow graphics is bothersome, and has a great potential to turn prospective clients away before they give it a chance. Mabe Intertops will listen to the people and invest in better front server/web design.

I used Bowmans, Intertops, and GSC last year..but this year I will be more interested in finding the line variety...good thread!

Thank you for your comments. We would like to update you with a few changes that we will have for next football season.
As you know, last year was our first football season, and we are happy to respond to customer requests where we can.

From the beginning of next football season we will have lines available from MONDAY with moneylines available earlier than last year - we would hope to have them at least the day before a game - possibly earlier.

As you know we have had problems with the introduction of our on line wagering.
However we have been assured that this will be operational by October...watch this space.

    Gregg,

Thanks for the info. Any idea what your minimum internet bet will be? I would like to add a British type sportsbook, but I think you cater more to the other end of the market?

    Thanks

    AV,
Chandlers may be at the other end of the scale, depending upon their on-line set-up, but try sportingbet.com, impressed with that.
I see NSW books are now on-line, SportOdds, Davidsons....

    Boris,

    Thanks, will have a look.

    SportOdds etc. taking online bets?

    I know they have websites...

Davidson's still seems a bit spivvy and limited, which is not surprising, although their AFL and NRL odds are at least better than Centrebet and the TABs.

    could not connect to sportingbet.com

    Aussie,
I have just spoken to the guys setting up our on-line wagering, and they have said that it looks like the minimum bet will be $10.
We will be looking to cater to everyone not just 'high rollers', and will have lines on all American sports as well as the European markets.

    Gregg, thanks for that.

That looks like good news then, particularly for soccer.

    Good work!
