  • THURSDAY HOOPS

Will be interesting to see how Kansas and Ok St. play on Saturday.
Kansas hosts TCU, so the line could be up to -24. Ok St. travels to
West Va. who have won three out of their last four home games.

Tonight I have Va. Tech +13 as a lone play. Tech has lost 8 in a row,
but they usually play with some spirit against Duke.

What else looks good? Considering Troy +5.5 over La La. Troy
beat them handily three weeks ago and the line looks good for
    two evenly matched teams.

Wed. I went 3-1 on my first posted straight bets. Then Baylor was my only loss on my first 4 team parlay. Then my 2nd one Mississippi ML loses SU by 1 pt. to kill that one. My Oklahoma SU bet goes into OT only to lose by 1. Tuesday Miami comes up 1 pt shy on a 3-team parlay. I'm getting killed by 1 pt. I need to start paring down the parlays to 2-teamers. Well...enough whining and on to today.
      3 straight bets for now...

Illinois -14 (bought 1/2 pt) - Illinois has tightened things up lately and this has all the makings of a 20 pt blowout if the coach has them focused. Every win is huge at this point so I think they'll roll here.
Oregon St +2 - will take a chance on the home dog in this conference match-up with Stanford struggling a bit lately.
Chattanooga -2.5 - UNC Greensboro is just 1-10 on the road with their only road win @ 6-20 (3-12 in league) Furman. They've lost 5 of their last 6 overall since beating Chattanooga at home by 8 back in Jan. Chattanooga has won their last 3 home games. Probably a toss-up but will go with the home team with revenge.

I am focused on the Illinois-Penn State game the current line is Illinois -14.5. This seems way to high. Over the last 10 games with Penn State the average margin of victory is 4.4 points.
Penn State is one of those teams that just seems to have Illinois number.

My numbers have this Illinois by 10

Not the effort I expected from Tech.
          Penn St. hangs in there.
This season continues to surprise and, sorry Dragon,
that UNC-Greensboro game is another head scratcher.

Should be a good weekend coming up.

Penn State plays Illinois tough as usual covering this spread and losing by only 5. I told you that the average margin of victory last 10 games head to head was 4.4 points and this one was right there.

Ugly game with over 52 fouls called

Spot on call Carpet! Only one (marquee?)game in college tonite. I need Butler to complete a 3 teamer from last night. Got them at -2 at home to St Louis. The Billikens destroyed Butler in St Loo last time out, time for the sweet taste of revenge. Line up to -3.5 some places, probably cause not much else to bet on. Am giving up the -180 to Luke Donald against some unknown in matchplay today (boredom?) Taking the Spurs -2 at Minnesota tonite too, as San Anton got to rest their starters for the whole 4th quarter in a blowout last night at the Clips. That was a nice one getting 4.5 last night there. Finally put a little on Kevin Harvick +900 in the big race sunday. He is coming out of the gate on fire, so why not. Gl fellas.

I am on St.Louis myself tonight at +3 but Good Luck. Will be a good one. I just think STL is way under the radar and has a shot to knock off Butler again. I Usually play the revnge angle myself, so just a small play for me.

Nice call on St Louis Woodee! Man, that StLouis team plays great D. I think the wrong team has that #15 ranking. Well, back to the drawing board for me. Maybe I can get work in a casino as a cooler Can't even pick my own nose right now.

I am now focused in on Illinois vs Michigan game to be played Sunday at high noon.

Illinois has been playing some good basketball winning 5 straight games in the Big 10 the first time since 2005 National Championship run.

There is a feeling out there from Illini Nation that say's this will be a good game even on the road. I look for Illinois to laser beam in on the PG of Michigan and create turnovers.

Groce has got this Senior lead team semi-dialed in. He is so close and has all the horses to compete with the big boys. Michigan should be very worried

I am still not sold on Illinois one bit. Michigan is not scared. Much respect carpet but they may be hot but I saw how they have played at times this year.
Sure they beat a couple good teams but they still are a middle of the pack big 10 team.
Just my opinion and I may be wrong too.
They are not Michigan, Indy or mich state.

Don't get me wrong, I am an Illinois fan too, but just not all the way sold on them they way they stunk it up a few games there. Maybe they've figured it out too!

I just don't trust my money with the,, thats all!
