    Big money
I read your posts all the time and like what you have to say. I will consider you and educated bettor and poster. All i am saying is how can you and I take any opinion from someone claiming to be a bookmaker but then not tell us what book he is from. We all know
there are many bad books out there. We all know about the action sports and the rey meyers of this business. Dont you want to know whos opinion you are listening to? Wouldnt it make a lot more sense if there was nothing to hide and the truth was being told to make damn clear who and what book you are from? How on earth do we know what value to place on these opinoions as a bookmaker. Rey meyers is a bookmaker do we want to hear his opinions as a bookmaker
    Thanks Lance

I feel the same way you do BigMoney. I certainly do not fault Lance for mentioning Skybook's name and admire him for having the guts to take a stand on this, what I perceive to be a ill-conceived idea from the onset.
Along those lines, I certainly respect intheknow's desire for anonymity as I've come to understand that a sportsbook's poster may not reflect the views of that book (Polar from Looselines comes to mind).

Back to the topic at hand, twenty cent lines. I've spoken to many sportsbook owners over the years and they do, indeed tell me that baseball is not their greatest profit center.

However, contrary to public opinion, almost all of them DO TURN A PROFIT. When you hear cries of "we're losing money," I believe what most sportsbooks really mean, whether they admit it or not, is that they were not quite as profitable as in previous years.

Now I have a vested interest in the lines staying at ten cents, so some may say I'm biased on this issue, but I promise you this: WITH THE NUMBER OF WAGERS I MAKE DURING BASEBALL SEASON, IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN A PROFIT.

Therefore, I have only two choices should this uniform twenty cent line become a de facto standard:

      1) Stop wagering on baseball entirely;

      2) Pull my money out of all Don Best Feed books and put my money in Australia, Europe, anywhere that is safe and has ten cents lines.

I will not wager if I have absolutely no chance of winning. Period.

        Lance,
My book is on the cream of the crop list. Jeff knows who I am and my book. He can vouch for me and doesn't have a problem with me posting the way I do. You can take my opinion for what it's worth. I'm not in here to agrue with anyone. I just think it's nice for players to ask a BM questions and I can answer truthfully without reservations.

Yep.....intheknow is definetly a bookmaker from a solid shop with experience in this industry.

You have to remember, at different times in the past, bookmakers/book owners may have taken heat for expressing an opinion, in that, they could be accused of having an agenda.

In the case of intheknow, this way here, he can participate, offer his views from that side of the counter, and let his opinions stand as is.

There are two schools of thought here, one being the approach intheknow takes, and one being the approach Lance and others in the biz take....Premier League, WWTS, etc.etc......Where is Roger anyways?

I'll also say, intheknow is not alone in his approach. Even in this thread there's at least one other bookmaker that I know of.......make that two.....

We/the readers, appreciate both approaches, I think. It's always valuable to hear from both sides of the counter...

              Boomer
Have you lost your mind. You of all people should want to know 100% who this guy is. Have we not established the rey meyers issue enough. You respect his wishes to remain unknown. Wouldnt it have been a lot better for you if you knew about rey meyers and who he was before you got robbed. Trust me boomer maybe this is your problem. You are to nice of a guy. IF I were you now more then ever I would want to know exactly who I was dealing with, and listening to.

Lastly guys are we all that lost as to how these threads work. AJAX50 STARTED THIS THREAD. He then said and I quote " I would like to hear from books that post here and their feelings on this matter." I was simply helping the guy out and using this forum the way it is meant to be used. HE ASKED TO HEAR FROM THE BOOKS. If I posted under the name jjjjjjjjj would that help him and give him the answers or opinions he was looking for.

Now everyone please answer this for yourselves. Why dont all the books post. I have talked to a ton of the bigname top books. They all dont want to be bothered. You guys always want to hear from the books , the books , the books, and then you cant wait to jump down our throats , put words in our mouths, and accuse us of things we arent doing.

was dealing with , betting with, and listening to.

I'd also add that bookmakers are alot like players in that, put a bunch of players in the same room, chances are, they couldn't agree on the same side of a game.....seems that bookmakers have their own stles and beliefs, based on what has worked for them in the past, and eveyone thinks his way is best

                  Lance!

                  I'm far from a novice.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't skybook chase a lot of talent last baseball season because they were gettin wrecked? Didn't they lower the amount they took from talented players? Maybe you did ok betting but your talking from the books view.

I think you shoud post your personal opinions as lance not skybook.

Do you not know how your own forum works? Read the thread. Your customer AJAX50 asked to here from the books. I thought thats what I was doing. Wouldnt it be a lot easier for us all if the person just says who he is instead of you having to jump in and say yeah he is so and so.
Like I said and that proves it more then ever. The reason more books dont post is for bs like this. Who needs it. As far as Roger I can answer for him becasue we are good friends. He doesnt need to be subject to this
                    and neither do I

I was only trying to help Ajax50 and any bettor who wanted to have a good solid book that will still use a 10 cent line. Dont worry You have heard the last from me

I lied , I have to respond with one last post
                      DEVIL
I will of course correct you. You couldnt be more wrong. SKYBOOK never chased anyone in baseball because we were "getting wrecked"
We win more in baseball then in any other sport. Why would I be here saying we want the 10 cent line to stay if we get wrecked in baseball. Would that make any sense at all.
Lastly and I mean it this time(I hope)
SKYBOOK will use a 10 cent line and take real big hits as always. You can call us and bet the 10 cent line or go bet the books with the 20 cent line its your choice.

Also you obviously dont know who I am or you wouldnt have asked why do I post under Skybook and not Lance

You see Lance, for the very same reasons you mention in your post, intheknow and others choose to post without putting the name of their books behind their posts. Maybe they have partners who don't share their opinions?

Calm down buddy. No big deal.....

                          Jeff
You brought me back one last time.
Again this nameless approach makes no sense and no one should value any opinion from someone in hiding. Lastly I and everyone should be very leary of a book whos partners dont share the same opinions. If the partners dont share the same opinions and dont agree on things the book is in trouble , trust me

For the record...the part about the partners not agreeing....I just threw that out there. I have no idea if that's the case. Just speculation on my part.....

                              Lance,

I couldn't agree with you more on this topic. I for one respect the fact that you say what book you're affiliated with. For the people that think Lance is just touting his book in the forum, get a life! You think a book on the Don Best screen has to send people into gambling forums to help sign up new customers? Finding new customers is the least of Skybook's worries.

As for intheknow, he's constantly saying "my book does this and my book does that" Buddy, if I don't know what book you work for, then I don't care what "your book" does.

Please keep posting Lance, there are still some intelligent people left in the World.

                                Lance my buddy,

Now I know that you're in my old hometown New York probably partying and having a good old time. And I wish I was there with you to toss back a few.

I want you to know its okay to disagree with people on this site. No one has all the answers, not Jeff, not our good buddy Reno, and certainly not me (as I proved by going into Action).

Just as intheknow has the abolutely undeniable right to not reveal what book he is from, so does any other employee or sportsbook that chooses to do so. Jeff says he knows of two that post here, I personally know of seven that are either owners of employees of sportsbooks. They choose not to tell where they are from probably so they wouldn't have to go through the public scrutiny that you endured.

I for one think that Bettorsworld would be alot worse off if Lance from Skybook didn't post here anymore. So chill and I'll probably slam a couple with you in Costa Rica on March 14th.
