    Reply to Boomer.

Everything that I state in my first posting are genuinely true. I did request for the tape recording to serve as a final resolution to this problem but was not entertained. And on their website, they state that in the event of any disputes, the tape recording could be use as a final resolution. Looks like they are out to cheat me and the 500 more bettors who are denied of their winnings.

Does anyone know whether would it be possible to file a court case against them?
    Sorry for my ignorance!

Sorry Patrick, my decision is "in the clink" and no more Starnet books get any of my money until the man is paid.

I wouldn't touch a Starnet book with a yardstick right now...

If the employees mess up then it's not the sportsbetter who should take the fall. What a way to run a sportsbook...

Now there is another person similar to my plight. But I think his loss is much more greater than me!
Isn't there anything out there we can do?

I have lost all my winnings from the Cambuur game at Sportfanatik.

I have used Bethelp's website as well, but I think they have mostly links to european messageboards about
soccer. Think there are probably loads of other boards about american sports full of Sportfanatiks clients. Since im at work now I dont have the time to look for them, but when I get home tonight my personal vendetta will begin.

There is no doubt in my mind that your case would win in every courtroom in every democratic country in the world.

Should there be a possibility of a lawsuit agains Sportfanatik, maybe with the help of some of the gaming comissions you have been in contact with, I would be willing to contribute to it with a substantial amount of money.
It would be good to be in contact with others that have gambled on this match. But I dont know how to get in contact with them. There are supposed to be over 500 other people that had bets on this match. '

          Cheers
          /Andreas

every democratic country? I seriously doubt that. As far as I know, in England bets are not 'legally enforceable contracts' or some such

What the book is saying is heads I win, tails you lose. To the clink.

Sorry for the break UK. Sounds like an absolute scam to me.

I can assure you, I will never be opening up an account with these people. When all is said and done, any type of token effort on their part might have been helpful. From giving you some type of credit, free wager, etc. But to tell you to "F*** Off" is terrible.

I know many people love the offshore books. But to me this is the exact reason to be wary of them. Had he lost this, his cash would be gone.

Maybe all the BW players who use them could organize a boycott and withdraw funds.

AV, bet's are not legally binding contracts in the UK, but if a book doesn't pay then it will lose its bookmaker's permit, and this means death to a bookie. But Sportsfanatik is probably based in Dominicana or somewhere anyway...

Strangely enough, spread bets are legally recoverable in a court of law.

This is an open letter to Patrick of Players Only:

Patrick, you say that you have 200 employees, that you are not responsible for what they say.

That is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever heard and why I would urge people to to pull their money out of your books.

These people are your Duly Authorized Representatives as you put them there. If their training is not up to snuff, it is YOUR responsibility, not this unfortunate gambler who does his job and asks a company, "do I have a wager?" to mutiple representatives and is assured he does.

You have been on this side of the counter and you know right from wrong. Do the right thing and pay this man or come in this forum and tell us why you think he should not be paid after more than one of YOUR employees told him he should.

I DON'T CARE IF THE JANITOR TOLD HIM HE HAS A BET, IF YOU HAVE THE JANITOR ANSWERING THE PHONE, IT'S YOUR FAULT AND HE SHOULD NOT SUFFER.

                        UK 2000,

Spreadbetting or Supremacy betting is regulated in the UK by the financial industry and winnings are recoverable there in court. It's a type of wager that started in the financial community.

You, alas, have a coupon-style wager with these Sportfanatik guys. If you've been stiffed, I'm not sure you have recourse. Where are they licensed out of?

I may have made the biggest mistake of my sportsbetting career opening up with players only(next to opening up with ***)

1.)After I sent a western union a few weeks ago they(playersonly) told me that w.u. was holding up all money going in to there book and this would not be credited to my account for a few days. I felt being an established customer they could of put the money in anyway.

2.)I call up to make a wager on a baseball game and want to bet to be an ACTION bet. They tell me I can only play listed pitchers since I am an internet customer.I said that is one of the reasons I am calling .The other is on the net you have 500 max lay bets I am betting 2 dimes .They said sorry you cannot bet action wagers listed pitchers only.

3.)Various other small problems that there is not space here for.

"we have over 200 employees and not all of them are
                          110% informed at all times."

IF 1/3rd OF YOUR EMPLOYEES WERE 50% INFORMED THAT WOULD BE A FEAT. (To be fair this may true for a lot sportsbooks for it seems we know much more about policy and procedures of there book and much more about sportsbetting then the people on the other side)

It seems for a long time I was getting regular e-mail solicitations from "PlayersOnly" with desperate sounding urgencies to sign up or reload.. Seemed every weekend or holiday, or major sports event a "hustle" for deposit "by such and such " a date for 20% bonus etc etc. I never joined because I didn't like their "pitch", and finally started deleteing their messages. I'm sure glad I followed my instincts.

These people should be boycotted and slaughtered reputation-wise. It's obvious this guy Patrick is "bogarting" that segment of his players that were winners on that game. The average person who had the losing side probably never even comes into contact with a forum like this, and just rung it up as another losing bet. You can be sure Patrick and company never sent those people a letter telling them Santa Claus was visiting them in May and their losing bet was returned to their betting account!!!!

                            Dot

PS---of course ---we can now expect several "new member" shills to come flying in out of the blue swearing their money was returned to their accounts.

UK, it is generally a no/no on this site but I'm going to recommend you go to t*h*e*p*r*e*s*c*r*i*p*t*i*o*n*.com and ask if they can help you get your money. They CLAIM to have a contractual agreement with Players that lets them resolve disputes such as yours (hopefully it's better than most of their claims).

In a circumstance such as this I think we all would be happy to see you get some satisfaction, no matter where it came from. It sounds like the loss is a serious financial blow to you and I wish you luck.

Also, I noticed on "the list" Players Only appears with the description "no complaints". Perhaps that should be ammended
