  • Royal Sports Cancelled Horse Wagers?

I just heard from someone I know that Royal sports stiffed them on a horse play that they made there cancelling bets 2 weeks after the fact.

I am not sure of all the details right now but I will keep you posted.

With this and the Carib thing, it seems like money isnt exactly safe anywhere.

    Scary...

Your money is safe with both of those books.

Not really fair ti say Royal stiffed someone with knowing the details.

I would seriously doubt that's the case. Royal is a class act all the way.

Royal Sports has an impecable reputation for prompt payouts and fair numbers. Royal Sports will not and is not in business to honor past-post horse bets regardless to how clever they are camouflaged.

        But Royal,

it appears you are in the business of not only not honoring wagers placed, but keeping the money placed on them as well.

        NICE!

Appearances are based on perspective. Truth is the truth and fraud is fraud. That is all that I have to say on the matter. The Royal reputation speaks for itself.

I've known the people at Royal since their inception offshore. I don't think anyone has EVER had a complaint about this shop.

However, it should be noted, if a legitimate compaint ever arose, it would be solved in lightening speed.

Royal is probably one of the most cooperative books out there and is always willing to give their time to make their customers happy.

Like I said, Royal is a class act.

What does this mean? How does someone "camouflage" a past-post bet?

              What happened here?

gut feeling here is royals right no sportsbook is going to go years paying all their clients on eveery wager and horse bet and then suddenly decide 2 weeks later not to pay off 2 horse bets.
Why are their so many people that seem to take shots at these books and are then shocked when they get caught and have their money confiscated.
while i do sort of think Carib took a shot back at the player what do you guys think is going to happen it these questionable situations the BOOK IS GOING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY sure they don't want bad publicity but folks their bread and butter clients aren't going to care if some con artist gets stiffed

I doubt Royal, or any book would want to detail the methods used to try to scam them.

Maybe the guy called in a couple of legit plays and mixed in the past post? Maybe he played dumb like he didn't know he was doing it.

Make no mistake about it, fraud is a major problem for these books.

Past posting races goes back to the beginning of racing in general.

Years ago wire services would distribute the racing results and game results to the wire rooms all over the country. There was a slight delay though.

The scammers would have someone at a vantage point either inside or outside the track. They would watch the race with binoculars then signal the winner to a partner. They would then bet the race somewhere, as the results wouldn't be known for a couple of minutes......

I just saw the other thread about "fertile minds". I am not going to step down to that level. I guess that is for Wim to do.

This person was a customer there for a long time, so based on the facts I understand, it appears to be a software problem for Royal and my friend has been penalized for that.

Players shoudl just be aware that a book is just that a sportsbook, which in my opinion is a business which has been associated with "shady" people. I am not saying that Royal is a "shady" business. I am not in the business of making that decison, especially since this is not my account. However, players just need to be aware of where there money is.

In my opinion, Vegas is the best place to play. You receive a ticket, it is a valid, accepted wager which will never be refused or cancelled.

Thats it. I really don't have much else to contribute on this issue.

Good luck to everyone with the pigskin today.

I think the problem with this incident is the way it was presented.

We're not even hearing from the account holder this happened to. We're hearing it second hand.

I think the way MLBFAN went about laying out his situation is the proper way to do it.

Then the players can decide what they want to believe and what they don't.

When a shop has been around as long as Royal, with so many years of a sterling track record and top notch customer service, you're not going to find too many people willing to take this situation as it was presented to them here.

Just sounds too much like sour grapes.
