Almost everyone has Paypal. We can use the send money to friends option and there is no fee.

Someone we can trust with holding the money may have to step up to receive the payments and then distribute it (through Paypal) at the end of the season.

Jeff is correct about the $650. We normally have about 25 entries. The problem will be if it is free, we will have 25 regulars plus 25 free loaders. I will participate either way, but prefer the regulars without the free loaders.

In either way.....love the site and all the savvy sports investors and between the hedges fund managers.....I'd even say if you want to kick it old school and fuck the man let's just send a check. Everyone I've dealt with here is str8 up legit and I'd have no problem with that.

Keep up good work! Thanks for the contests Jeff!

Btw - just back from Vegas and signed in 4 Friday Football Showdown and SuperContest this year...GLTA....GMFB

Sending a check is also ok. No problem with that. Also agree with bama about the freeloaders. But will go along with the majority. Love these contests, lots of good info from u guys

Better that we get a 100 or 1000 "freeloaders" as that is what Jeff needs - more traffic to the site. Free contests are a great way to do that.

If the Regulars want to have an entry fee contest for the sharper minds, and can manage their payments themselves, Jeff probably would be all for that.

I'd say lets just roll with these two sponsored contests and maybe do a dog thread for fun.

I'd be willing to score the NFL one like I mentioned earlier.

The mock is fun but time consuming for the scorer I imagine as its hard to grade 1 pick like I do!

Unless someone wants to step up and do the mock, I'd just go with these 2 Jeff is graciously sponsoring. Pay pal is picky if they catch wind that it's in anyway tied to gambling I know.

                      Hey everyone,

Hope your summers are going well.......

The biggest issue with the pay pal is that my pay pal account is a business account and the contests kinda mess me up come tax time. Especially since a contest
like the Hilton doesn't pay out until Feb. It just makes it more difficult to do the books and my accountant wants to strangle me.

We could use Venmo. Ever hear of it? You can use a debit card or bank account, to send
money. Venmo is owned by Pay pal.

Let me know if you want to go that route and I'll sign up for an account right away. (Everyone else would have to sign up as well I guess)

                      Jeff

Whatever we need to do to eliminate the hassle for you that you described with Accounting I'm very confident that ALL longtime participants of The Mock Hilton Contest will be totally fine with doing. Easy to understand, the hassles that get made for you and the massive Support you've given us for so long is appreciated. Vemeo or whatever, Money Order or Check thru mail, whatever is OK by me I just hope we can have that contest again this year cuz I have others I've told about it who wanna take part, I certainly do and many others here the same.

Won't Venmo mess you up in the same way? Or can you do a personal account with them just for the Mock Hilton?

Or, will PayPal let you set up a second account with them that is just Personal?

                            Contributing my two cents again.

It's not the number of freeloaders that I mind.

It's that the number of overall contestants for the NFL GOTW Contest has declined in the last number of seasons, as the entry fee for the contest has been reduced; and, as a result, the overall amount of prize money to be distributed to the winner(s) has also been in steady decline.

Although a sponsored contest might seem like a good way to increase site viewership, overall, it might also be the case that having a slightly higher paid entry fee than what has been the case in recent years, e.g. $50.00 (or, even $100.00) might "increase" the number of site viewers overall because there would be a larger pot of prize money - and people are usually more interested in something when there is a larger sum of money at stake (linked to the actual number of participants, e.g. if there are 100 participants x $50.00 = $5,000.00 of prize money) to distribute than a grand total of just $650.00 (27 participants x $25.00).

As I said before, I am good either way (a. with a sponsored NFL GOTW contest, or b. with a paid entry fee) ... but, my preference is definitely for the one that offers the larger sum of prize money to the winner(s).

How about Sportsbook transfers to Jeff's account at that same sportsbook?
Many guys have 5Dimes, BetOnline, etc.
Just transfer $50 to Jeff's account.
I think it is free to do so.

                                Other payment options could be:
                                Venmo
                                Bitcoin

If you don't do Bitcoin or one of the sportsbooks, and don't want to set up an account at Venmo, you could PayPal or send a check to someone here on the Forum and they could send Bitcoin or Venmo for you.
