Schedule and Odds
It was definitely time for a change for the Eagles as they only had two wins last season. Their win total has actually decreased every year since 2007 which is why Steve Addazio was brought in to revive the troops. He has plenty of senior starters returning which will help, but getting back to a bowl Game may be a stretch in his first year as head coach.
Oddsmakers agree. BC is listed at odds of 85 to 1 to win the ACC this year. That places them ahead of only two other teams in the conference, Duke and Wake Forest.Those odds are listed at leading offshore sportsbook 5 Dimes.com
The offensive side has plenty of talent with Chase Rettig at quarterback entering his senior season. Even though Addazio prefers a run-first attack, he’ll have to go with what Rettig and his arm can give him. That should be a good amount, especially with Alex Amidon returning who recorded 78 catches for 1,210 yards last year. The duo should once again be a top threat for this offense. The Eagles also get back Andre Williams out of the backfield after he finished last year with an injury. But even with all of this talent and experience, the offensive line has been a problem as of late. With multiple weapons, the line will have to improve to show case their players.
The other side of the ball needs the most attention for Boston College where they struggled to stop anyone last season. New DC Don Brown comes in with a different attacking mindset than the previous coordinator so there will definitely be change with this unit. The strongest part of the defense is at linebacker where Kevin Pierre-Louis and Steele Divitto make up a good combo. It’s up to the rest of the squad to step it up.

BC has about as difficult of Schedule as last year, but they should be able to get at least a couple more wins. Two straight wins to start the season is likely if everything goes to plan, but Games against USC and Florida State will be tough tests early on.
Their other two non-Conference Games are scattered in the Schedule, but can easily be wins at home against Army and at New Mexico State. The rest of the Eagles ACC Schedule includes back-to-back road Games at Clemson and Virginia Tech which will be trouble. Even their final two home Games against Virginia Tech and NC State will be tough. To finish the season, they’ll have two road Games at similar opponents in Maryland and Syracuse.
Boston College’s Schedule is filled with a lot of 50/50 Games that could go either way. There’s the possibility of reaching a bowl Game, but that’s only if their offense can live up to its potential. A good prediction is around the six-win mark if everyone can come into form.
