Missouri vs. Kansas
With all eyes on the Big East and ACC conferences in college basketball this season, the Big 12 has taken somewhat of backseat and flown relatively under the radar despite having some of the top teams in the country in their conference.
Although everyone seems to be talking about UConn, Pittsburgh or North Carolina in terms of National title hopes, the Big 12 has some pretty good contenders in their Conference with Oklahoma, Missouri and the defending champion Kansas Jayhawks.
The Oklahoma Sooners have been the team that looks most likely to do something out of the Big 12 conference, but after their superstar forward Blake Griffin went down with a concussion a few Games ago things are really starting to look different in the Big 12.
As of right now the Kansas Jayhawks are on top of the Big 12 after taking down Oklahoma who is now the number three team in the country in the Top 25 polls. The Jayhawks may have five losses on the season, including one to Missouri recently, but they have only lost one Game in Conference play which could result in a Big 12 title.
The one team standing in the way of the Jayhawks run at a Big 12 title, besides Oklahoma, is the eighth ranked Missouri Tigers. Like I said before, the Tigers are the only team in the Big 12 to actually beat the Jayhawks this season which will give them a much needed edge in their upcoming match up.
Kansas will be coming into this Game with all the confidence in the world after beating the Oklahoma Sooners and winning Four in a row, but if any team in the Big 12 can take down the Jayhawks it is the Missouri Tigers.
When these two teams met back on February 9th it was one hell of battle with the Tigers rallying back from behind in the second half to lead Missouri to a two point victory past Kansas which resulted in some national attention for a good Tigers team. The Jayhawks came out strong in the first half, but they just couldnt hold off the Tigers who seemed destine to take down their Conference rival.
This match up will be different this time around though as the Missouri Tigers will be playing on the Jayhawks home floor in Kansas where they havent lost a Game all season with perfect 16-0 record. Both of these teams have come on strong as of late with Kansas on a Four Game winning streak and the Tigers winners of seven straight.
This should be a very close Game once again, but I really dont see the Jayhawks losing to their Conference rivals on their home floor. It will be close and we could be in for another great finish, but Kansas will not want to give up their lead in the Big 12 standings and will be looking to prove that they are the best team in the Big 12.
