After a week off NASCAR is back at it this Sunday with the Goody’s Cool Orange 500 at Martinsville Speedway. There should be some opportunities to bet some underdogs this week as Martinsville is not a track where starting position is crucial. Only 31% of recent wins have come from the top 5 starting positions with 44% coming from the top 10.
Looking for hot drivers at Martinsville? Jimmie Johnson has won three straight here while Jeff Gordon and Kyle Bush have had several top 5 finishes. Tony Stewart also has a couple of wins at Martinsville.
As for a manufacturer to back, Chevy leads the pack wit 9 wins over the last 16 races here.

Kyle Bush -105 over Tony Stewart – why not?
Harvick +110 over Hamlin – Hamlin has performed better at Martinsville however Harvick has been better every time out this year
Newman +110 over Bowyer – We have this match up a toss up so we’ll take the underdog price here.
Kenseth +120 over Biffle – Kenseth has beaten Biffle 4 straight at Martinsville
Montoya +130 over Mcmurray – The price is right here with Montoya as a sizable underdog. He’s been the better driver this year and has faired ok at Martinsville as well.
Hamlin +105 over Stewart – Going against Stewart twice today will probably bite us in the ass. But Hamlin has been better than Stewart here.
Dale JR +120 over Jimmie Johnson – Jr has had three consecutive top 5 finishes. Johnson has owned Martinsville winning the last 3 times here but that can’t continue.
Kyle Bush +130 over Jeff Gordon – Simply a case where we think the price is right. Could go either way but at +130 this is a bet we’ll win enough over the long haul to show a profit.
Kenseth +125 over Carl Edwards – Edwards still riding the wave of his two consecutive wins early in the year. In Kenseth, we think we have the better driver at an underdog price.
Biffle +125 over Kahne – Similar to above, Biffle has been better this year and at Martinsville it’s a toss up. The price is right.
