NFL PICKS

We’ll kick off each NFL week with an early look and some free picks on the upcoming weekends Games. This report will be out late Tuesday at the latest and will take just a quick look at every NFL Game on the board the following week. These are early looks. First impressions if you will. Lots will change by weeks end and the very best Free NFL Picks will end up on Our Key Release page

Week Two 9/17 – 9/18

Raiders vs Ravens – Wow. Raiders looked terrible on Monday Night. But in the NFL no team is ever as bad as they looked the previous week and generally, no team is as good. What a classic example here. One team wins 27-0 and the other loses 27-0 in week one! Oakland probably isn’t very good this year and the Ravens will probably have a good year. But this one has all the ingredients of a Raiders cover on the road. We should gain some nice line value here as well. Early Pick – Raiders +9.5

Texans vs Colts – Hate laying big numbers in the NFL but what else can you do here? The Colts will be a factor this year, and the Texans won’t. The fact that the Colts gave up 21 to the Giants give the Texans hope for a cover. But gun to my head, I gotta go with the Colts. Houston is 0-8 against the Colts and has been out scored to the tune of 29-13. (32.13 in the RCA Dome) Early Pick – Colts -13

Browns vs Bengals – Bengals sure did look good going into Arrowhead and spanking the Chiefs last week while the Browns were losing to the Saints. But we’re going to have to take the extra value that that creates in the number and take a shot with the Browns in the battle of Ohio. Early Pick – Browns +10.5

Bills vs Dolphins – Just don’t think the Dolphins deserve to be a touch down favorite here. Bills played respectably at New England last week and figure to be a thorn in whoevers side they are playing each week. They almost pulled the upset against the Pats. The Dolphins figure to try and run the ball quite a bit this week as the Bills were having alot of trouble with the run against the Pats. This would make taking a look at the UNDER a wise move as well the the underdog Bills plus the points. Also note that the Bills have covered the last 4 against the Fish and have WON 3 of those straight up. Take the points! Early Pick – Bills +7

Lions vs Bears – Yet another team that looked like Super Bowl contenders last week, Da Bears. In this instance, I’m a believer. Liked them last year but they were lacking on the offensive side of the ball. Well, they scored 26 to start the year. Problem solved? Not that they are going to be an offensive powerhouse but if this offense is just a little better than last years edition look out. This team could dominate. Bears covered the last 3 vs the Lions Early Pick – Bears -8

Panthers vs Vikings – It used to be that when a team looked bad one week, like the Panthers did last week, and their opponent looked good, like the Vikings did on Monday, it would be reflected in the line and the publics betting. Hence, going against the public paid huge dividends. Not always the case these days. This Game opened Panthers -2.5 with the Panthers being on the road and with Steve Smith still questionable.????? Vikings with a short week but as an “early look” we’re gonna lean towards the Purple people eaters. Early Pick – Vikings +2.5

Giants vs Eagles – Huge NFC East Game here as the Giants don’t want to start 0-2. But as we mentioned last week, we think the Eagles are back and if we’re right, they will win Games like this. There’s some added motivation as well as the Giants beat the Eagles twice last year. Giants will get another crack at them later in the year but this one belongs to the Eagles. Early Pick – Eagles -3

FEATURED SPORTSBOOK

Bucs vs Falcons – Tampa has won the last three vs the Falcons but the streak stops here. Bucs were shut out at home last week for the first time in 77 Games and managed only 142 yards total offense. Can they improve that much in one week? Nah! Early Pick – Falcons -5.5

Saints vs Packers – Don’t look now but the Saints are actually putting together a good football team. With Heisman winner Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister in the backfield and Drew Brees over center the offense figures to be a factor. Last week their defense gave up their lowest offensive numbers since 2001 so things look stable on both sides of the ball. The Packers on the other hand are a mess. Early Pick – Saints -1.5

Rams vs 49ers – Tough call here. The lowly 49ers actually swept this series last year so we’ll call for a turn around this year. After all, the Rams didn’t look to bad last week. Early Pick – Rams -3

Cardinals vs Seahawks – Seahawks need an impressive win here after last weeks lackluster performance against the Lions. We think the Cards are just what the Doctor ordered. As we said last week, the Cards will Scorepoints this year. But their defense is another thing. Seahawks have won 6 of the last 7 against the Cards and have covered 5 of those. Another please. Early Pick – Seahawks -7

Patriots vs Jets – This Game sets up nicely for the Jets. Pats in off almost losing to Buffalo while the Jets blew a 16-0 lead and almost blew the Game in the process. The Patriots have won 6 of the last 7 in the Meadowlands and have covered all seven! But we don’t feel as though the Pats will be anything close to what they once were this year, and feel that they will have a Game on their hands each and every time they take the field this year. We’re getting some nice added value here as the line opened Pats -4.5 and is now -6.5 in some spots. We’ll take the value with the home dog here. This one might make Our final sheet! Early Pick – Jets +6.5

Titans vs Chargers – Chargers played on Monday Night. As of this writing only Pinnacle has the Game up and they have the Chargers -12. We’ll pass for now. No Early Pick

Chiefs vs Broncos – Both teams in off bad losses, although the Chiefs loss was the worst of the two. Now they have to go into Denver, a place where they have lost the last 5 both straight up and against the spread. But the number is to high in this one. Look for the Chiefs to show some improvement this week and at least stay within the spot. Early Pick – Chiefs +11

Redskins vs Cowboys – This Game still circled as the Skins played Monday night. Both teams in off disappointing losses here. The Skins swept the Cowboys twice last year. Now it’s pay back time. Look for T.O. to shine under the Sunday Night lights. Early Pick – Cowboys – 5.5

Steelers vs Jaguars – Still waiting on the status of Big Ben although as of this writing, Batch is expected to be the starter. Leaning towards the Jags in this one although not ready to even make a gun to Our head pick as of yet. Ok, gun to Our head early in the week, we’ll take the Jags, but stay tuned. Early Pick – Jaguars pk
