Week 9

NFL Pick

Denver Broncos (3-4 SU 2-4-1 ATS) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (7-1 SU 6-2 ATS)

After a solid start to the season the Broncos have lost their last three Games where their offense has struggled and they may be a QB controversy brewing in the Mile High City. Their last loss dropped them below .500 and they are well behind the 6-2 Kansas City Chiefs, who they lost to in their last Game, in the AFC West.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Eagles are 9-point favorites with a total of 43.5.

The Eagles have the best record in the NFL and they have reeled off six straight wins. Their offense is clicking as the 4th highest scoring team in the league and there has not been any sophomore slump for Carson Wentz, who has been in the mid-season talks for the MVP. Philly is a big favorite in this Game and with good reason, as they are 4-0 at home while the Broncos are 0-3 on the road.

These teams have not met since the 2013 season in Denver where the Broncos laid a 52-20 beat down on the Eagles.

While the Broncos have covered the spread in their last Four Games facing the Eagles the home team has covered in Four of the last five Games between these non-Conference teams.

The Broncos are coming off a 29-19 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in their last Game where they turned the ball over five times. Denver had more yards in the Game and they have the league’s top-ranked defense, but it is hard to win coughing up the rock five times. Trevor Siemian passed for 198 yards with a TD, but had 3 INT and they were bad ones on poor decision making and it would not be surprising if the team went back to Brock Osweiler under center.

Denver did rush for 177 yards in the loss to KC with C.J. Anderson leading the way with 78 rushing yards and if the QB play continues to struggle the Broncos can’t get down early and they have to rely more on the run. Denver faces an Eagles’ D that held the 49ers to only 238 total yards in their last Game.

The Eagles had an easy time in their last Game beating the 49ers 33-10 where they did not have a ton of yards (304), but they had good balaNCe, forced two turnovers and Wentz had a good Game. He passed for 211 yards with 2 TD and 1 TD and Corey Clement and LeGArrette Blount combined to rush for 102 yards. Philly bolstered their run Game before the trade deadline picking up Jay Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins and he may get some action in this Game.

The Broncos are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Games overall, 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road Games, and in their last10 Games after a loss the Under record is 8-2.

The Eagles are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Games overall, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home Games, and in their last 7 Games they have an Over record of 5-2.

Jason’s Pick: The Eagles are red hot and have covered the spread in their last five Games and the Broncos have dropped three straight and have failed to cover in their last five road Games. In all three of the road losses for the Broncos this season they have lost by double digits and look for that trend to continue in this Game. Philly will stay hot and win and cover at home sending Denver two Games under .500.
