Bookmakers were left running scared after the well backed (5/1 fav) Strong Flow trounced the opposition in the Hennessy Gold Cup last weekend, and the Paul Nicholls trained 6 year old now looks destined for the very top of the chasing tree. Although he is more likely to take the novice route this season, it would not be a surprise to see him take his chance in this season’s King George, for which he is now 6/1. Connections say they will look after this exciting prospect, but another defeat for Best Mate and even the Gold Cup (8/1) will be hard to resist!

Nicholls also looks to have a strong hand in this weekend’s highlight, the Tingle Creek Chase from Sandown, where he is likely to have three challengers. Jockey Ruby Walsh would have had a difficult decision choosing between them, but has plumped for Arkle winner Azertyuiop over Cenkos and the improving Le Roi Miguel. They will all be have to be razor sharp, however, to see off the Champion chaser Moscow flyer, unlucky to lose his pilot in this race last year after being badly hampered, and the worthy 7/4 favourite for Saturday’s race.

Saturday’s race is likely to cause a shake up in the betting for the Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. If you fancy your selection to win on Saturday and then go on to triumph in March, bet365 are offering special double prices. Moscow Flyer is an 11/2 chance to win both races, with Azertyuiop at 6/1.

Other highlights on the card include the William Hill Handicap Hurdle in which trainer Martin Pipe is going for an incredible 7th win in the race. His main representative will be much touted Our Vic, an easy winner of his last race and already prominent in the betting for the Champion Hurdle (25/1). A word of caution, however, the stable has provided the last four beaten favourites, so have a saver on the lowly weighted novice Overstrand. Over at Chepstow, the exciting Keen Leader could make his much awaited reappearance in the Rehearsal Chase, and a good run will see his current odds for the King George (20/1) tumble. On the same card, Indian Scout looks to have a great chance in the 2 ½ mile handicap chase after a fine comeback run at Wetherby last time.

With channel 4 showing 7 races live from Sandown and Wetherby, customers can once again take advantage of our fantastic racing offer. Back a winner at 4/1 or over in a channel 4 race and receive a free bet to the same stake in the next channel 4 race!

Liverpool pay a visit to St James’ Park on Saturday (live on Sky 12.30GMT) on the back of an inspired 3-1 win over Birmingham last Sunday. Liverpool trailed 1-0 at Anfield until Steven Gerrard equalised from the penalty spot, triggering a revival that culminated in goals for Harry Kewell and Emile Heskey. While they will be without the services of Michael Owen, sidelined after injuring a thigh muscle during their UEFA Cup win midweek, Liverpool look good value for an away win at 7/4. A 2-1 scoreline (9/1) and a first goal for Kewell (13/2) combine nicely for a 45/1 payout!

    ****************
The Heineken cup gets under way this weekend starting with a live Friday night game between Llanelli and Northampton (19.45 GMT). Holders Toulouse, with their numerous World Cup stars, will be once again hard to beat at home, and look worthy outright favourites at 4/1. They begin their campaign in Edinburgh on Sunday (13.00 GMT), followed by the live game between Wasps and Perpignan (15.00 GMT). Wasps are buzzing at the moment after their game win at Newcastle in terrible conditions last weekend, and they could be the pick of the English teams at 7/1.

With five live games in total to bet on this weekend, our In-Running markets on theses games will include Match Handicap and Total Points.
