WagerWeb.com POSTS ODDS ON: "WHO WILL BE THE 2004 AP NFL COACH OF THE YEAR?"

(Zapote, Costa Rica, 15 September 2004)-Under those sweet Motorola headsets that roam NFL sidelines is a man; a man who controls all, and leads his team into battle each and every week on the gridiron. That man is known as the NFL Head Coach. He is a man who rules over his kingdom, and is a major factor in today's NFL as to the outcome of games, close or not.

Just look at Jon Gruden's Tampa Bay Bucs during their Super Bowl season of two years ago. Gruden and his coaching philosophy and scheming were a direct result of their championship. More and more NFL head coaches, with that special ability to be creative and innovative, like the Houston Texans, Dom Capers, Carolina Panthers head wizard, John Fox, and New England Patriots head man, Bill Belichick, are the difference in a team being prepared or not, and that directly results in W's.

Of course, the players decide the action on the field, but in an NFL full of parity it is coming down to head coaches making the difference more and more these days.

"The NFL Head Coach is making more and more of a difference in his team's ability to win each and every week," said Dave Johnson, CEO of WagerWeb.com "The old cliche of being out-coached could not be truer in pro football today. With that said, we have received a lot of action on current coaching legends, Joe Gibbs, Bill Belichick, Brian Billick, and Jeff Fisher to win the 2004 AP NFL Coach of the Year award this season."

This year marks the return of a coaching legend to the sidelines in Washington Redskins' Head Coach, Joe Gibbs. He will try to turn a team around that wasn't ever able to get going under Steve Spurrier.

Also, look for the newer crop of head coaches like Bengals' Head Coach, Marvin Lewis, or Panthers' leader, John Fox, to be an ever present factor in the outcome of their team's game. Also, experienced coaches with new teams, like Giants' head man, Tom Coughlin, and Lions Head Coach, Steve Mariucci, have the savvy to improve their team's ability to win exponentially. Look for some coaches to be the difference in the surprise teams of the 2004 NFL season.
