  • NFL Sues Website for Promoting Gambling

NEW YORK, New York -- CBS Sportsline is reporting that the National Football League has sued Ken Miller and his "NFL Today" sites. It alleges that the sites promote gambling, project favorites for each week's games and provide direct links to gambling sites. The league asked the court to stop the sites from using NFL trademarks, to transfer all of its domain names to the NFL and to award the NFL unspecified damages. An NFL news release said the lawsuit was
one of the first under the new Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act of the Lanham Act. In an interview with CBS Sportsline, Miller said the NFL's primary interest seemed to be the domain name of the
websites. In October the NFL offered to buy the names from him for US$270. Miller said he then offered to sell them for
    US$120,000.
