    Mike Bell - RB, Denver Broncos 11/15/2006

    Denver RB Mike Bell was inactive against Oakland on Sunday because he didn't capitalize on some of his opportunities in Week 9 against Pittsburgh, head coach Mike Shanahan said on Tuesday. Shanahan also said that Bell would receive ample playing time in the second half of the season.

    Vinny Testaverde - QB, New England Patriots 11/15/2006

    The Patriots signed 43-year-old QB Vinny Testaverde out of retirement on Tuesday. Testaverde becomes the third quarterback on the Patriots' roster along with Tom Brady and second-year player Matt Cassel.

    Aaron Brooks - QB, Oakland Raiders 11/15/2006

    Oakland QB Aaron Brooks (pectoral) said on Tuesday that he's available to return to the starting lineup. Backup QB Andrew Walter, who recently criticized the team's playbook, has started seven straight games in Brooks' absence. Raiders head coach Art Shell has not committed to either QB for the team's game at Kansas City on Sunday.

    Randal Williams - TE, Oakland Raiders 11/15/2006

    Oakland TE Randal Williams has replaced Courtney Anderson as the Raiders' No. 1 tight end. Williams caught five passes for 61 yards in his most significant action of the season in the Raiders' 17-13 loss to Denver on Sunday.

    Trent Green - QB, Kansas City Chiefs 11/15/2006

    Kansas City QB Trent Green said on Tuesday that he's been cleared by doctors to return to practice, which he's expected to do on Wednesday for the first time since he suffered a concussion in the Chiefs' opening game on Sept. 10. Green said that he has no idea when or how much he'll play.

    Clinton Portis - RB, Washington Redskins 11/15/2006

    Washington RB Clinton Portis is expected to be placed on injured reserve today, effectively ending his season. Portis, who broke a bone at the base of his right ring finger against Philadelphia on Sunday, had surgery on Monday to repair the digit. The move will end an injury-riddle campaign for the fifth-year running back
