Illinois slide continues as they fall to 1-6 with
6 double digit loses.
Zook was again dishing out his disaster as a
head coach...
A bright spot was when a struggling Juice Williams
was benched and red shirt Freshmen Jacob Charest
came in and took his first NCAA touch as the red shirt
came off. The kid drove Illinois down to the Purdue
2 yard line with a series of crisp passes to his tight
ends.
So with Illinois at the 2, Coach Zook takes the kid out
of the game and puts Juice Williams back in who
promptly threw a bad pass out of the end zone, the drive
ended with a missed field goal.
Now talk about a confidence killer to your young QB
who took you to goal line, just what were you thinking
Coach Zook ?????? Zook said he wanted to use the run game so he put Juice in.......Juice threw the ball WTF???
Couldnt the red shirt Fresh QB handed it off????
Today at Half Time Gunether of Illinois stated that
Zook will be here thru 2010 no matter what.
Carpet believes that the combined effect of a Bad season
and alot of talk about firing Ron Zook is going to have
a disastrous effect on recruiting. Guenther had to stablize
this incoming recruiting class with some assurance that
the coach that recruited these players will be here
for them next year.
Illinois has verbal commits from some several highly
talented recruits including one from a Tight End # 5
in scout as a TE in the country a 4 star recruit, who is
wavering because he thought Illinois was a up and coming
program. His next visit is to Notre Dame next week.
Next game is Michigan at Illinois and I really think
they are going to mud hole Illinois. Illinois is going to make QB Forcier of Michigan look like Tom Brady of NE
If at the beginning of the season you of of bet me
that Illinois would begin 1-6 I would of said you are
crazy. Looking at the remaining schedule there is
# 5 Cinnci coming up down the road who may still
be unbeaten when they play Illini and it could be
ILLINOIS SUPER BOWL game for them.....
There is Good News ......Basketball Season is right
around the corner and the season looks bright for
Illini Basketball who went 24-6 last year.
