  • Monday Night Football Anyone??

Ok, I plan on wagering a larger than normal
monday night wager simply because the Pats
are the local team, and I dont see how they
can lose to this broncos team. The Broncos
opened at 2 and are now up to 3 at some
books. I can see them being favored simply
because the Patriots have historically played
poorly at mile high stadium, but that was in
the past, and this is now. Everyone thought
that the patriots would never win down in
Miami, and they did this year! So they are
going into mile high and taking this monday
nighter by at least a touchdown. Here are
the stats. A scary stat that jumps out at me
is Denver is ranked #2 in the NFL in total
defense allowed per game, 5th ranked in
pass defense, and 10th in run defense. This
could cause brady to throw a pick or two.
But dont worry, Danny Kannell will throw at
least 3 to the pats. This guy plain out sucks.
The broncos would be better off putting
portis at quarterback and running the option
all game. Easily the worst quarterback in the
NFL right now. I tend to ask myself before
wagering on a game will there quarterback
lead this team to a victory, or could they
cost them the game?? I will take Brady over
    kanell any day.

    Now A couple bright spots
about the pats: The pats have the 5th ranked
rush defense in the league. 5th in sacks, 5th
in interceptions and 4th in turnover margin.
This will lead to pressure on Kannell, kannell
    throwing interceptions and the patriots
    beating denver on monday night.

    here is my pick:

    Pats by a touchdown!
anybody have any opinions on this game?
    let's get this thread going!

I'm with you, I have that feeling "What am I missing?" too! I did the same thing with Chicago as well this week, thinking that the -3 was too easy, but that worked out.

I'm putting it all on NE +2.5 (it's not yet +3 where I bet, but it's Even money).

We'll see what happens. Denver won't have enough Offense for a blow out and NE should have enough to keep it close.

I got the Patriots on the moneyline tonight, i can't see Kanell winning this game. Kanell's gonna throw a couple INT'S tonight that will be too costly for Denver to overcome.....a Bill Billicheck defense vs Danny Kanell, i'll take the Bill Billicheck defense every time.
I also like the Ottawa Senators to win tonight over the NY Islanders, Ottawa is unbeaten in its last 17 visits to Nassau Coliseum (13-0-4).

Leaning towards the Pats and the points too. Will probably buy it up to +3 and see what happens. Not a strong play in my opinion but still some value there. I like Brady over Kanell also. He has been solid all year and has the poise to win on the road.

damn, Richard Seymour is out of the game
tonite! Not good for the pats, this guy is
nasty on defense. Let's see if klecko can
step it up. I am still with the pats, but
i am a little nervous now without seymour.

Wow, what an exciting game! It sure didn't look too good with the safety done on purpose to stay in the game, but it all worked out in the end!!!

Congrats to all.. They made us work for this one!!!

            Not a bad week.
