  • Expert Picks Plus Analysis – Friday Evening Winners!

-- Here are today’s picks with analysis --

    Nashville @ Anaheim
Friday night the Anaheim Ducks take on the Struggling Nashville Predators on home ice. The Ducks are now tied for first place in the Pacific division with the Los Angeles Kings. Nashville is coming of a 3-0 loss on Wednesday, to the Los Angeles Kings. The Predators are 4-5-1 in their last ten contests. The Mighty Ducks are coming off a 3-3 tie with Dallas on Wednesday, and are also 4-5-1 in their last ten games.
The Ducks will be ready and healthy and ready for the Predators on Friday. The Ducks have no significant injuries at this time. The Predators on the other hand have been having some trouble in their front lines. They lost Jeremy Stevenson LW earlier this month with injuries to his cheekbone. This is the second left wing the Predators have lost this season.
Nashville recalled left wing Libor Pivko from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League to help in their front lines. Pivko has been performing well in Milwaukee this season with 3 goals and 4 assists in thirteen games.
In the net tonight for the Mighty Ducks is Martin Gerber. Gerber has been hot on the cool home ice. He holds a cool 0.96 goals against average for home games this season, however he has been less than luster this month with a 4.04 GAA in November. Gerber has taken the net once against the Predators this season and left the game with a loss and 3.00 GAA. On a better note he is 3-2-2 this year with a 1.98 season GAA.
Taking goal tonight for Nashville is Tomas Vokoun. He is currently 9th in the nation for wins and holds an overall GAA of 2.56. In his last five starts he holds a slightly better GAA of 2.24. In his only contest with Ducks this year he skated away with a victory and held Anaheim to only 1 tally on 29 shots.
Expert Power Ratings favor the Nashville Predators by -.5 points and predict a high scoring game tonight. Considering, however; Anaheim’s recent home game performances and Nashville’s trouble with injuries and their roster in the front lines, we take Anaheim to win tonight’s match up.
Despite the head-to-head totals for the last 10 games played the two teams are 2-8-0, we feel this game will beat the total. Due to this trend the over has a lot of value in tonight’s match up. We predict a 4-2 win for the Ducks.
Play Anaheim -0.5 for -140 and Over +4.5 for -130 Play each pick at one unit each
