Illinois 10-2 vs Missouri 9-2 BRAGGIN RIGHTS GAME
Tuesday, National TV from the Scottstrade Center
in St. Louis.
A Look at the TIGERS from Missouri.
9-1 under a new head coach, off to one of the
best starts in school history.
The Tigers play a tough full court pressure
defense all game. They are averaging 12 steals a game
which ranks 4th best in the nation in stealing the rock.
Good Shooting team from beyond the arc, the points off
turnovers are well noted, and averaging 80 pts a game
allowing 65.
LAST OUTING 10 DAYS AGO, a loss to Purdue 79-62
The schedule has been soft and inflated by beating on
small schools like no tommorrow.
WEAKNESS
Mizzu is small up front, they really lack Interior Defense
Vs Purdue (in their only loss) Carl Landry of Purdue had a field
day 23 points on 11 rebounds
A LOOK AT ILLINOIS
Illinois is HEALTHY, and for the first time
all season Coach Weber has had a full week to work
with his starters in practice.....
The Illini face a quick turnaround game after hosting
Belmont, remember the Belmont Bruins.... Tiger Fans ?
The Illini came out rust flat and turned the ball over
20 times and won by 26 points
Illinois has 5 players averaging in double figures
and 7 players at 9pts a game, a very well balanced team.
BIG INSIDE 6-11 Carter, is feeling his oats as the big
man down low is starting to play averaging 20 a game
last 4 games.
THE KEY TO BEATING MISSOURI
Missouri will play a full court press all game, the
key will be beating the press (as Purude did),
6' 9" Randle will make a huge difference in beating
the press as he hops to pass over the traps easily.
Look for Randle to make Sport Center Highlights with massive
dunks once Illinois beats the pressure.
Force the Ball down low, pound it inside, Illinois
must get into a half court game and dominate the boards
MY PICK
ILLINOIS
Missouri has not played anywhere near the teams
of Maryland or Arizona (Illinois) and they are not at that caliber.....
Illinois Talent is Vastly Superior and the Coaching is solid,
factor in all starters back for Illinois, gotta take Illinois...
My numbers say Illinois by 12....
Good Luck to all
