Michigan opens up a 21 point chalk at home vs Illinois

Last week I said laying 14.5 points is never easy and 21 this week seems like a mountain to lay vs Illinois.

Illinois was in the Wisky game until well into the late 3rd quarter and then the doors came off. Illinois is hurt and it showed late in the 4th quarter. It seems that this Illinois team gets so deflated when the other teams scores.

Michigan will have 109,901 fans in the stadium and this noise will further serve to disrupt Illinois on Offense.

Has Beckman lost his team? Not really. Illinois is so banged up in the secondary and on the Offensive line he has nothing to play with in the 4th quarter.

21 is a boat load to lay out vs Illinois and it has been a while since Illinois has been a 21 point under dog and won a game. If memory serves me correct Illinois beat # 1 Ohio State as a double digit dog. (I called that game right here at Bettorsworld)

Carpet is ground floor looking at this game, more to follow....

You can thank the way Purdue played to make the spread 21. A pick 6, late going for it and turning the ball on downs made the 31 point victory more than it should be. It's an inflated line. Interesting to see which way it moves during the week.

OK I need to eat crow I did not think before the season that the ILLI would struggle so much this year.I have given out some wrong information earlier this year about their ability to score points and we all know how that has played out. However to anyone who cares Coach Beatty now on the ILLI staff did recruit while at West Va. every player on the roster from Virginia and Geno,Sedman, and other Florida players. The upside at Illinois is fantastic and they will be the class of the Big10 in three years,I hope fans will be calm before the great storm that will hit in 2014.
As for my words earlier this year about Michigan I still stand by the 4-5 loss record and man it who be amazing if one of those was this weekend.

I am in Michigan and have followed that program for years. I still think that it is too early to say whether Brady Hokes team at Michigan has the power to run up scores on a consistent basis or whether he is that type of coach (some are- some aren't). I like what he has done to date but 21 pts. is a lot of pts.- as you have stated.

If Illinois had a kicker that could hit a field goal from outside 44 yards then this cover might have a chance for Illinois, but they do not. The special play teams for Illinois has not improved compared to last year very much.

This team is hurt, you will see me repeating this over and over. The secondary is a shell and I cannot see them stopping Robinson with his mid field attack.

On Defense Michigan knows that Illinois offensive line is hurt, they are getting a couple players back this week on the O line but as we all know it takes a game or two to adjust to the speed of the game. Michigan is going to be calling all dogs to attack the QB of Illinois.

Among the many things I look at when capping a game is Fundamentals. Just how fundamentally sound does a team play the game on both sides of the ball.

Illinois is fragmented in just to many areas right now. If Coach Beckman can take his mash unit to Michigan and keep it within two touch downs I would be amazed,

I think turnovers will be key to this game and with the speed of Michigan Illinois may turn the ball over 5 times in this game.

            More to follow

Watched the coach today in a pre-game press conference looking ahead to playing Michigan.

Not one word of what they need to do fix this, Yes there was two words (Get Healthy) and that is true. Injuries have taken a toll on Illinois that is no doubt, Injuries aside if both teams were healthy Michigan plays better fundamental football at this time.

The big question at Illinois today is who will step up? The problem is they do not play as a team. I do not see the fire in this team. Illinois looks very disjointed as a team now.

I can see a possible extremely remote back door cover at 23.5 but my numbers tell me Michigan 38- Illinois 10

I am taking a shot with Illinois myself on a larger that 1 unit bet for me. I think this is a good spot to go against Michigan with this high of number. Michigan State on deck, a bad team like Illinois coming in. Complete look-ahead and may be a close one if Illinois can limit the turnovers and stupid plays.

On a 1-3 unit or star with 3 being my top play, I am going 2 on Illinois +25. I may wait a bit longer to see if it goes higher before kick-off.

The non fighting Illini offering up little to no resistance as Michigan currently destroying them early 4Q. can only blame myself for thinking 25 was enough points vs an average Big-10 stiff like Michigan. Can they at least put up some kind of fight? Maybe make a few gurgling noises?

Michigan rolls Illinois I thought 38-10 was my prediction but 45-0 was the final

What a sad team Illinois is

The entire Illini Nation is in melt down tonight as reality has slapped them right about the head and face. That reality is Illinois is fundamentally broke.

Illinois lacks emotion and fire as a team and on top of that they looked confused.

Has Coach Beckman lost this team? It sure seems so on the surface and on the field.
