After another winning day yesterday, our MLB picks are now 17-2 (89%)
over the last week and a half.
Game: Philadelphia at N Y Mets (1:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: N Y Mets -124
Two young and emerging pitchers will face each other at Shea, as Cole Hamels squares
off vs. John Maine. They are both coming off of great openers, as neither gave up
anything. Maine has shown the ability to get hitters out with an impressive 6-5,
3.64 ERA last season. The hidden factor was the league hit just .211 off of him. The
other thing he has shown, was to be a Philly killer, as half of his 6 wins came at
the expense of the Phillies, 3-0, 1.96 ERA. Hamels has good numbers as well, but to
get the Mets at Shea, where they won more games at home last year than any team but
the Twins, at a short price, with a pitcher that has dominated the opponent is great
value and we will back the Mets in this one.
