In Week 2, right before the Philly/Dallas Monday Night game, I posted an observation that I had made regarding the SuperContest consensus picks for that week. Every game that had been picked by 65% or more of the contestants choosing that game as one of their selections had gone 4-0 with Philly being the 5th. Philly covered also, so for that week the angle was 5-0. I finally figured out how to go back and look at all of the results so here they are through Week 5.
Games that were picked by at least 65% of the contestants choosing that game as one of their weekly picks.
Example:
Week 4
88 pick Washington +11
29 pick Dallas -11
75% of the contestants picking that game as one of their weekly selections picked Washington. I round up to the nearest 1. So I would include a 64.51% pick as 65%.
Results:
Week 1 - 5-2
Week 2 - 5-0
Week 3 - 2-4 (3-4 if you count one 64.3% pick that just missed the cutoff)
Week 4 - 3-1
Week 5 - 4-1-1
So after 5 weeks the total is 19-8-1 (or 20-8-1 if we count the 64.3% pick). That's over 70% winners regardless of whether or not you include that one game.
I haven't actually used this yet, just kind of keeping an eye on it.
