  • Illinois vs # 22 Gonzaga January 2 Mens NCAA Basketball

Illinois 3-0 vs top 25 teams this year plays Gonzaga
Jan 2 at the United Center in Chicago.

Gonzaga is 9-3 and was to be in a rebuilding year
after losing 5 top scorers losing 47 pts a game and
    21 rebounds to graduation.

They are loaded with players outside the US mainly
canadian who are pretty good ballers.

When I look at gonzaga a couple things jump off the
    floor at me....

    1. They do not rebound well off the offensive end
in fact this is a real weakness for this team.

    2. They do not create alot of turnovers, and the
ability to block shots has been awful.

They are a excellent shooting team at the FT Line
lead the nation in scoring from the charity stripe.
They have 5 players who have made over 40 shots
from the charity stripe alone this year, compare that
to just one player for Illinois at 44.

The Center for the zags is a real good player his name
is sacre (french I believe) He is always in foul trouble
and Illinois must force him all game to pressure it.

Illinois has laid a egg on the road this year, but the
United Center in Chicago has always been home away
    from home for Illinois.

Last game for Illinois , Center Tisdale had 31 points
and Mike Davis forward has 18 points and 17 boards.

I look for Illinois to feed it inside to the bigs, last
game has made believers out of the young freshmen guards to get it inside. Mike Tisdale is unstopable inside
at 7-1 (90 per cent of the time).

McCamey guard of Illinois loves the United Center
and always puts up a good game in front of his home town
    crowd.

    85-80 Illinois

I think this will be Illinois 4th win over a top 25
    team this young season......

    Good Luck all

    85-83 Gonzaga

What a tough loss for Illinois, down by 21 and come back
to lead by 8 and lose it OT, a real kick in the pants,

I think the Illini were gassed at the end.

What I did not count on was Illinois center Mike
Tisdale collecting 2 fouls in the first 2 minutes of
    the game.

ALL 5 Illinois loses has come on NEUTRAL COURTS
this year and that dont bode well come NCAA selection
    time.

Illinois gave Gonzaga all they could handle and
seem to be playing better and better each game

I thought 85-80 for Illinois and bet it accordingly
hate to lose being so close....................

For what ever its worth and I think this is
      worth alot................................

I would not want to be Iowa coming to Illinois
after this game today, they arrive Tuesday....

No spread will be high enough
