    O.K.

Let's get this straight. Marketing only type Sportbooks. I think I'm confused a little.

    "PLAY WHERE THE PROS PLAY"

What is your opinion of a pro. A person who puts in 3 team parlays' A teaser player, A person who puts in 7 $100 dollar plays on one call? Could it be a player who would lay -7 on a game that is -6 everywhere?

If a pro is someone who might bet games only when your book is higher or lower than the others, Then Skybook is one place not to call. Unless they want to hear "hold game 22" or "that game just changed sir" or in the back ground hear "Tell them to call Don Best if they want that number!"

You talk like Skybook is some kind of big Office who takes many bets, but you are just like the MARKETING ONLY TYPES you talk about!

Why do you hold up every sharp player that calls your office? Could you explain this to me. Why do you post off lines when they can't be bet anyway. It's easy to claim things, but it hard to back them up when you really don't want any sharp player to call you!

I was really shocked to see this claim "Play where the pros play" I had to laugh for about half an hour........ In fact I'm still laughing.......

What does the word myth mean anyway, I'm really confused....

Also, When you post a halftime of pk-380. Do you really give this number to all your players? You can't think of a flat number like -9 or -9.5. Most places that post numbers like this really don't want sharp players to bet the half-time, Thats why they post such stupid numbers. This is a pratice for bookies for years, To make a huge phony money line so that most players will just laugh and look for some book that posts a number that you can bet..
Don't you think giving a flat number for the half would get you more bets from the non-pros you really want to take bets from anyway. I would think so...

      Just wondering......

        Polar,

It would be nice if you could express yourself a bit more tactfully. I was once also told by Skybook to call Don Best if I wanted the number that was just on the screen. But for the most part, I've had more success getting the number and size I wanted at Skybook than just about anywhere else. IMHO, having Mr.Sky available to answer our questions is wonderful, and I don't think we should p*** him off.

          Sky,

I too like Reno have noticed that about 25% of the time when I call in the new number I was given, there is no answer, and I have to call again. It would be nice if you could correct that problem. When I called several weeks ago to find out what Don Best books you had transfer arrangements with, I was told you had none at all. Perhaps you could be more accomodating this way.

I'm curious if you could explain your policy regarding line changes, particulary large lines changes and larger than usual line changes as games are about to go off the board. Also, what percentage of your business do you estimate is layoff action? How much and when do you layoff to others? Thanks.

sky, How about posting golf matchups again? Did you not get enough volume? I also have trouble getting no answer on the new number. I hang up and redial and it gets answered right away. I hope you look into the phone problem.

Most Caribbean sportsbooks use the same service for the phones.phones are delivered via satellite,so if it rings more than a couple of times the call probably is in outer space,so just hang up and try again. We do receive alot of calls from other bookmakers laying off action but it is hard to distinguish who is betting and who is laying off.

Greg it is hard to post lines on obscure events, because you dont write 2 sides and you dont win.As far as why to add Skybook to your play list the reasons are too many to list. However, being that we book so much higher than everyone you will see some different numbers here. Also we always go up first at halftime,so you will be able to really battle a line that 20 wise guys havent straightened out.In some games we put up lines long before the half is over,

POST THE LINES ON THERE, BUT IT SEEMS YOU HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH IT. I UNDERSTAND YOU
HAVE A NEW SITE READY-WILL IT HAVE THE LINES
                    ON IT(SQUARE OR SHARP)?

old man,I cant really give you much web site info, since I handle day to day bookmaking operations, but I do know that Skybook has hired a marketing group to take care of things like that, and I hear some big things are planned,so just keep checking www.skybook.com and I look forward to hearing feedback when it is ready.

                        Mr Sky,

Another question. You claim the reason CRIS can put up openers is because they don't take big wagers, but they write alot of action and can overcome this with juice. But you claim they are a SMALL STORE. (your words) You claim to write big action, but you can't make enough juice to overcome putting up opening lines? Strange? Contradictions? No? But when you put up your openers and answer your phones you don't even take bets on these numbers. Unless they are the same as the rest of the Don Best clone offices.

The talent you talk about, Is this the talent of avoiding bets much like the casinos in Vegas. Is this the new version of THE SUPER BOOKIE by Art Mantaris . I didn't read the first one so It might have been updated to include this Talent you talk about. I hear this is a new talent Vegas casinos are looking for.

How can you say CRIS is a small store....

pk-380 for a half-time? My 4 year old kid could make this line.....

Speak facts or don't speak at all....

Tell me one reason I should say Skybook is a great out....

I've said WWTS is a great out. I've said CRIS is a great out. DelMar is a pretty good out also. Just because you are on DON BEST does not mean anything! Nothing! If The owners at Don Best cared about their service they would look for some books with a brain of their own. Not a book that trys to avoids any sharp action.

I think People realize Polar likes to upset people that pretend to be sharp, People that like to claim things. Go ahead and pretend all you want sir. But try to answer the questions please.

You claim things, but when questioned about a couple little problems you seem to not want to answer them........

Tell us your reasons you think Skybook should even be respected a little.

First of all polar,I am tired of hearing you whine. We are fast and first with every halftime and seldom do we post a number like pk -380.I do have several weapons in my arsenal, sometimes I like to use a line like 4.sometimes with a 10 pt favorite down 8 at half ,I know my clients might want a "who wins the game line" like 8 1/2 d 55 or yes sometimes for various reasons I like to use a straight money line.Lopsided games are good reasons to use high money lines.feel free to contact Don Best and find out who takes the largest bets and they will tell you that it is Skybook by far. Also Skybook remains the only store open to all large commission agents. We have every wise guy package from New York to las Vegas, and if those guys were totally happy we would be broke.I have 15 wise guy lines and everybody cant get the numbers on the screen, because the lines move too fast. But as far as the criticism of putting games on hold,it doesnt happen here,You call up and get an immediate quote,it might not be the quote you want and the lines might be moving to fast for the screen to keep up,but you will get a quote.Remember I am not here in Venezuela for you and the wise guys, but they bet more here than they do anywhere else, while bitching and moaning every step of the way,and you should feel free to consult Bill Scott or Montys office and I dont think they will dispute this.AND as far as respect from you,I will try to stay open without it.

Sky, You of all people have the nerve of a highdiver to call someone a whiner. And remember just because you think you take the biggest bet in the end does not make you the best "BOOKIE."Nor does putting up the halftime lines first either for that matter, there is a lot more to it than just that.

                              I QUOTE
"A sport like college basketball requires others to open first because none of the partners at Skybook are experts in that sport, you can't be an expert at everything."

BUT "NBA is my best possible venue"

BUT "Skybook is made up of professional gamblers and sometimes we like to bet out before we open."

So basically you just don't want to go first because you don't believe it is in your interest to do so. No shame in that.

No glory either but that's what you seem to be chasing in this thread.

                              MORE QUOTES

"I have been betting there for years and when they open they never take more than 7000 from me in the NBA,so they can easily juice out what they lose on getting their lines corrected. An office like Skybook, who takes many times more than anyone else does not always have that luxury."

                              QUESTION:

How much EXACTLY DOES Sky accept without exception on, since we're on that subject, NBA? Not just when you need a side but without exception.

Along those lines, since you are an expert in the NBA, why would you need to worry about your lines being "corrected"?
