  • Canbet?

What's the latest on Canbet? I have been on a self imposed exhile from Sportsbetting for two years. Are they still solid? Do they still have reduced juice?

Any other books with reduced juice specials?

Seems the more things change, the more they stay the same

Many books offer reduced juice on various games. One of their favorites is to reduce the juice on NFL games if you wager on Fridays. Some books drop it to a nickel. Others go 7 cents. Profit margins keep getting thinner and thinner for books because there is so much competition. Costs go up, so books have to attempt to get more overall volume. Droping the Vig is just one way they do this, along with offering bonuses for signing up.

One word of warning. If a book starts to offer huge bonuses, view that as a red flag. Books do this because they have run into a cash flow problem. One book was advertising a 100% sign up bonus. There were all kinds of restrictions to it, like rolling over x6. The reason for the offer? That same book took an $888,888.00 win wager at track odds on Afleet Alex in the Belmont. At 6/5, they lost about a million two on that wager.
