  • About Pleaser (reversed teaser)...

    Hartley,

    its a sucker bet.

Especially when you will take the dogs.

    For example, this weekend,

Pit +6 against Buf and TB +6 against GB.

If you think both of them will win outright, you will get 6-1 in pleaser.

If you bet a 2 team moneyline parlay (+230 for both), you will get 9.89-1.

For simple maths, when you buy half point, you need to pay 10 cents. Convert it into "selling points", you sell 6 points, your odds should be adjusted from -110 to +210.

A parlay of 2 "selling 6 points teams" should be getting paid at about 8.61-1.

    See the difference?

Ray - you've got it exactly. Pleasers are TERRIBLE wagers. Just as you said, you are way better off taking the money line on the doggies if you want to make some extra bucks.

With enough line shopping., I've even seen cases where teams as low as 4 point favorites were paying better odds parlaying them together on the money line than in a two team teaser where not only must they win, but win by at least two points!

I couldn't agree more. Not only are you betting the teams to win outright but are often giving away points!!!! This makes for even worse odds. Plainly, pleasers are to "please" the public and attract more customers period. Flat out dirty marketing ploy, a scam.
