  • Intertops/Starnet - Shame, shame!

I tried both Intertops and the Starnet books 30 minutes before NFL kickoff. Even though I have a cable modem (20 times faster than a 56K modem) BOTH sites were "unavailable."

Although World Sports Exchange and Carib were slower than usual, at least I could access them.

Intertops and the Starnet books get an "F" for NFL Sunday preparation!

Well now - only 5 minutes after kickoff I can "finall" access Intertops and the Starnet books.

Thank goodness for WSX and Carib - at least I was able to get my NFL bets in "before" kickoff.

mls which Starnet books, or is this just an attempt to flame Intertops? I thought Starnet books didn't accept U.S. or Canadian action.

FWIW, all sites were slow today.

Leave it to Hartley To absolve I-Tops while piling on Starnet. It DOES get tiresome after a while. I had NO problems with Starnet Book Betatwallstreet at crunch time, but Sportfanatik was having crunch time problems. I can't comment on I-Tops since I don't use them, which may be a good Policy for Hartley since he obviously wouldn't lower himself to use a Starnet Book.

Intertops offered a 105 reduced vig to makeup for the earlier "technical problems.:

Unfortunately, about 15 minutes before the late NFL games I was "again" unable to access Intertops ("server unavailabel").

Sportfanatik is the Starnet book I was referring to - they were unavailabel from 30 minutes before kickoff until 5 mintues after the earlier NFL games. Unlike Intertops whcih agian is totally unavailable, Sportfanatik was available for the late games.

Hartley - a attempt to "flame" Intertops??? Before you accuse anyone of lying I suggest you do some checking - even Intertops admits it was totally unaccessable.

Attempting to "flame" Intertops?!? - Hartley, you are an ***

I had the same trouble as you did with intertops, Mls. This maybe just one of those things that happens from time to time and I can forgive them but their are other problems with their site I cant:
If it is getting close to kickoff and I want to check lines I usually save intertops to last because I know their site will take me the longest to get into. Lately I havent been checking their site at all. It has been said by many in here before that their site is slow and annoying. I agree. I am tired of waiting for a bunch of banner ads to appear before I can do anything. I find this to be an ongoing problem with their site.

If I could get a high speed hookup in my town this might solve the problem; even fiddling with my internet settings could maybe help but I try not to fiddle with things I dont understand. I just dont think they are in touch with the setup their customers want.

The Guesser, are the Starnet books willing to accept your minimum online wager over the phone when there are problems such as these? I know you took a lot of flack for this a few weeks back but it IS a legitimate complaint and one that must be addressed.

The Guesser, I thought all the Starnet books used the same servers (since all their lines are the same). However, I will check out Betatwallstreet.com - if they are on a different server than PlayersOnly/Sportfanatik I will give them a try.

I have an account w/Aces(starnet). Normally, I don't even try to bet during crucnch time, however today I was able to place a couple of bets.

Lately, I've been using Premiere and SOS. I've been able to get down w/no problems during crunch time. IMHO, both of these outfits are great.

As far as Intertops goes. I have no account there and they'll never see a dime of my money. I went to their website and could not find whether they charged a credit card fee (most places make it hard to find if they do charge a fee). So I e-mailed them and asked if they charged a fee. They replied that I should read their website thouroughly before asking such a question. I was insulted by that reply.

Mls, I realize Intertops was having troubles as were a few books (heavy volume I suppose). Had you written Betonwallstreet/Intertops I wouldn't have said anything, but to put down a group under one software supplier and divide it with Intertops is inane. I would have said the same thing regardless of which book you put a slash after Starnet. By putting "Starnet" I have no idea if you are talking about Skybook or boystoyscasino.

                        STINGer:
I have a friend who was having trouble with Sportfanatik at crunch time today. He put in a $30 bet over the phone, after haggling with the clerk about no internet access. I don't know what their phone minimum normally is, since if I'm having internet problems at one place, I just go to another book.
I try to avoid phone betting whenever possible.
