  • Credit card fees

Once again I come hat in hand to ask for info.

Maybe someday I'll be responding to this type of post. Until then ...

Do any books NOT charge a 4 to 8% fee for using a credit or check card?

    Thanks

WSEX, which is the class of online books IMHO, doesn't charge fees. Neither does islandcasino. I am sure there are many others, but these are the only ones I use that don't charge. Carib just reduced their fee to 2.5%. Use the search function and you will likely find others!

At www.sportingbet.com we cover the costs of all credit card transactions. We also cover the costs incurred for other deposit methods, ie bank wire, upto 4% of the amount sent.

SOS charges 4% but refunds $15 on deposits greater >= $500.

So if you deposit $500 at a time your fee is only $5 ($20-$15). It doesn't make sense to deposit more than $500 at a time, as you lose more on the differential.

I understand premiere league now accepts credit cards w/no fee. Haven't had to try yet.

i think one point is being missed here.
Some of these books don't chare a fee,
but almost all bank cards now treat a
purchase to a casino as a cash advance.
Most bank cards also charge 3% with no
maximum as well. There are some places
              (books with multi-industy operations) that
avoid the casino tag and thus purchases to
these books will not be cash advances.
              (sportingbet I think is one)

Whiteshoes - I ran into that problem with my VISA "credit" card - so I simply got a "debit VISA card (a "check" card)" and that solved that - now there are no bank fees with my VISA check card. Almost all banks offer VISA check cards for free by the way.

                  Thanks for the info, all.

I find out about the cash advance
trap when I tried to pay for my
Western Union transfer with my Visa
card in order to open my account
with WSEX. Had to physically go get
the money out of my bank account and
take it to a WU office.

I used WU as I was told it was the
only way to be up and running with
my book account on the same day.

If anyone knows of another method of
quick transfer, please let me know.

                  Thanks

                    mls

Didn't see your post until I posted above.

I WAS using a check card in the above instance. Do you mean it wasn't treated as a cash advance with your card?
