  • I got scammed By Action Sports

I guess I should have been smarter than to fall for their "suck you in" 5% juice promotion. Last week I sent $2000 tp Action Sports in St.Maarten. The first bet I made was a winning $1000 parlay. Amazingly enough I had one of the best weekends I ever had running my account up to $21000. This morning I called to withdraw $15000 and was told by them that my parlay was invalid and since all of the other bets I made were from those winnings they were all invalid. So all I havr in my account is $2000. I went absolutely nuts and asked to speak to a manager who tried to sweet talk me and tell me this is the rules, but since there was a problem he would be happy to give me a free $50 parlay. Gee Thanks. I immediately asked to get my $2000 sent back to me and was told this would not be until the end of the week. After what they put me through I will not be holding my breath waiting for the fed-ex truck. I guess all I can chalk thio is a lesson learned. My advice to anybody out there, don't sigh up with any of these fly by night B.S. operations on unlicensed unregulated islands. You are at their mercy. It only cost me $2000 in cash, but $21000 in theory, that is if I ever get my $2000 sent back to me. I feel like a real jerk for allowing myself to get scammed like this.

Mike Owen - all questions. Where is Action Sports located? St. Maarteen? Where the hell is that? Second question, why was your bets invalid? On what reasons? Third, what made you played with them? Was their anyone you know or did someone of your friends recommended them?

A friend of mine had a flyer and it said they were in St. Maarten in the Caribbean. I was very sceptical because I din't see them advertised here at Bettorsworld where it seems like all of the legitimate Books are listed. I have to say I just got greedy and tried to save a few bucks with their sign up promotion.
As far as why the parlay was invalid, I was told I was one of a few customers who had the wrong line as someboody had changed a wrong line and it was fixed in just a couple of minutes, but the unbelieveable part of it all was the difference did not even come into play. I wounder if the losers of the game got their money back. After dealing with a 2 managers with very arrogent dispositions, I guess they a that is the way they do business. They would rather not pay a big winner snd keep you as a customer as long as you lose.

Questions/answers: Is this the same Action
sports that posted a message detailing all
the different types of bets that they take.

Are they going to answer this complaint?

Just curious Mike: how far off was the
line(S) of the parlay in question?

            Mike,

please leave us alone, and leave this forum alone.

I don't know what kind of beef you have with Action Sports or maybe you are one of their employees before.

            But, please.

            NOBODY CARES.

Isn't Action Sports the book from St. Maarten that was just involved in a big controversy over licensing? From what I have heard there is no licensing or regulation on that island. I play with WWTS and Post Time and I have confidence in the Antigua Government. I would not want to risk my money to maybe save a couple of bucks. My advice to anybody is stick to the real books in the real jurisdictions.

First of all, Action Sports isn't on my list anyway but I am just sick of people keep doing such stupid thing.

            Hey Mike,

at least try to do a better homework next time if you have something new.

Need I tell you more of the other thing you said about them?

And you sent them $2000 last week?

            Have a nice day, sir.

Good job of uncovering a fraud Ray.

I do not play with Action Sports - or anyone else not endorsed by Bettersworld.

However, I'd say there is a 99.9% chance "Mike Owen" is a fraud and liar.

if you are for real come on back and explain more specicifically about the terms of your parlay like earlier suggested. Any one has right to change their mind and do business with whomever they choose, but unless you can give us more info you certainly sound like someone with a long-term axe to grind? You brought this up and thats what this forum is for, but I would certainly hope you can stand by your major- alledged "stiff-job" claim so no one else gets theived. All I'd like to see is more specifics and maybe a response from "ACTION SPORTS" who claims in their 1/2 page adds in "Sportsform" weekly to be the worlds # 1 book (ahem!)

There is no question there are unscroupulous books out there and they deserve to be ripped and destroyed as they hurt the reputation of the industry and damage the perception of all books by new people entering the off-shore world in particular.

Come on back Mike and respond. How about Reno, Sting and others of the "worldly" contributers here commenting on ACTION SPORTS. Anyone else been screwed??

I just got off the phone with Ray Meyers (owner of Action Sports). He said he never heard of a Mike Owen. Mike, give him a call and get whatever problem you have straightened out with him.
I've been with Action Sports now for almost a year and I've never had a problem there.
And Mike, be sure to let everyone in the forum know what exact plays you are referring to that were not honored.

                          Check one,

I don't really want to waste my time on this garbage anymore but let me say this one more time.

Maybe you are working in an offshore (you came from CR as you mentioned in your profile) so you are so intrested in all those sh!t inside this business.

But for the majority of the bettors that come in this forum, we don't care who's who and who has beef with who and who.

We only care which shop is good or bad and who has the best line out there.

I made my post above just want some of us don't fall in those dirty tricks because of their presonal affairs.

Mike, I could be wrong about you. BUT you just keep coming back and back on Actions Sports (I don't have a good impression on them anyway) and you keep saying something which DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AT ALL.

I've seen a lots here since last year although I must admit that I haven't seen it all.

There are books/shills coming here kicking each others everyday, this is not something new.

At least try to give yourself and the others some respects.

I've seen Polar slamming the others more harsh than anyone, BUT BOTTOM LINE, I don't remember he tried to make up something to fool the others.

                          Think about it.

My name is Ray and I manage Action Sports Wagering in St. Maarten. I have not come into this forum in the past, but I've received phone calls from my very loyal clients about negative comments in this forum. First I'd like to reply to Mike Owen by telling him that I don't know who put him up to telling lies about our pay out procedures and the phantom parlay but if he or anyone else reading this message should like to speak to me please feel free to call me @ 1-800-771-8771 Ask for Ray.
I'd also like to clear up The issue about licensing. ASW is the only licensed internet and telephonic sportsbook on the island of St. Maarten. Anyone interested in inquiring about which government agency to call or if you wish to acquire our license number please call me.
In closing I'd like to say once and for all that Action Sports Wagering is here to stay, 5 % juice is real, and that ASW will remain a major Sportsbook.

I dealt with Actionsports for about 6 months and was treated well. Good detective work by Ray in uncovering the Mike Owen scam. Could it be that Mike and Leo Walters are one and the same? As you may remember, Leo formerly worked for Action and praised it to the hilt before quitting and trashing Action on this board.
