  • RENO, some hockey help please...

Reno, I noticed you were back and playing hockey. I'm having a tough time finding outs for hockey with big limits. Instead of the combined line, I'm looking for puck lines aand more importantly money lines. Without feeling that I'm stealing your outs, could you summarize where I can find hockey money lines and/or puck lines for decent limits...

Sharpie, I know very little about Hockey. But I do know exactly how many cents every number--sides and totals is worth. And it is very clear to me that many offshore BMs are ignorant concerning this important information.

The Don Best books are my main outs for Hockey. The only non-Don Best book where I regularly find value that I can't get from the outs on the Screen is WSEX. My other outs either tend to duplicate the Screen or just use a puck line sans a moneyline. If you just want a puck line, SOS takes big action. The Unified Gaming books--Island Casino, Sportbet.com, Gambler's Palace, etc.-offer just a puck line. However, I think I recall BookyBashr saying something about 5 Dimes offering more variety. You might want to give them a call. (I've not yet opened an account with them.)

      Reno,

Look at our hockey lines. If you know me you know hockey is the first thought that goes through my mind every morning. You will always get a different line here.

Yes Polar, I did sign up with you, and played some big hockey action for awhile. But your lack of hokcey money lines (pk -180)discouraged me from re-posting with you.

          Sharpie,

The reason I prefer to use the half-goal line is very simple. If I used the (pk) lines, every game that ends in a tie would be no action for us. There's going to be less ties this year, but still I'd rather not have the ties here. We want a decision.

Why book any percentage of games if they are just going to have no action. I will bet the (pk) line if I have a play, but for the book. Why?

P.S. The Idea of using two lines seems to be reasonable. I see no reason not to, except the computors we use are not set up to do this. If we can change this I will think about using the (pk) line.

Polar, I've only been playing in the afternoons, and Looselines lines have pretty much been the same as the Don Best books. However, I'm going to also start playing in the morning, and I'll be sure to check your hockey. If I see some different lines that I can use, I'll make sure I get some more dinero into my account.

Sharpie I don't know where you live but if it's outside the US you may want to consider Centrebet "www.centrebet.com.au".

From what they've told me before (although it really doesn't apply to me ),there are no maximum limits (although they may refuse you after $50,000) and they offer both puck lines and money lines.

Essentially what they do is they have 3 lines - a handicap line which the Canadian line with 1/2 goals, a "tie option" line which gives odds for visitor to win outright, odds for home team to win outright and odds for a tie and a dividend line which is a money line that refunds ties.

Plus as I'm sure as most Australians in the forum would point out - with the funds being guaranteed by the Australian government your money is as safe as in a bank.

And one other thing I think you'll like - no fees whether you use bank wire, Western Union, credit card etc. and you can just click on "debit my credit card" which means you don't have to keep a balance in an account.

Just something to consider anyways. I don't use them that often but when I have there hasn't been any problems whatsoever.

3-way line is slightly different Hartley, you are betting on the result at the end of regulation, win/loss/draw

Centrebet does have handicap betting for NHL, but is 1.90 either way, so wouldn't be too attractive to big punters I would think, except for line shopping......

I find this a little interesting, i too have done studies regarding the value of each line, side and total.

But for Hockey i feel that the findings of the studies are less valuable than in any other sport. The reason for this is that the average score and total goals that have been scored has varied by a large number (percentage wise) over the last few years. 5 years ago the average total was 7 and it wasn't unusual to see 7.5

However the rate of scoring has since decreased that the average score is now 5, this is a huge percentage decrease in scoring.

I would grant that this information is valuable, but only you considered last year's scores in your database, anything else is useless. In addition we are beginning to see that scoring is on the uprise, and thus of what value are last years numbers this year?

I especially liked the "i know very little about hockey"

                  part

                  best of luck to you.
